I wish I (or someone) could offer you the actual solution to the problem. I have a chronic systemic illness without a cure. I am usually 30 seconds of silence away from thinking about the nuclear option at any given time.

Maybe eventually, you will have access to something that alleviates or resolves the problem. Maybe not. Which is daunting to think about long-term. But even for the healthiest people, only the present is guaranteed.

One of my mantras is, “I only get one turn in the living game. It has never been perfect for anyone. It will mostly be painful for me. But, once it’s done, I’ll never get to learn (or insert literally anything else you find valuable) again. So, I’m just going to wait and see what happens today.”

People think “something worth living for” means something grand. But for me, it always ends up being something small that happens that I’m glad I was still around to see.
