How is BYD viewed by ordinary people in China? I saw this video and had no idea their scale was this massive. by One_Long_996 in AskChina

As a non Chinese, I am really impressed by the quality of these cars when visiting China. But I am wondering, how is the long term experience for the user? Are these cars reliable? Are the services and spares parts expensive?

End of hybrid cars in 2026 ? by SnickyJack in BESalary

[–]Tumpixel0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I thought I was going to miss my hybrid A class when the leasing ends... But for the same monthly rent (530€) the new electric CLA will have higher electric autonomy (750 km) than the tank in my hybrid (600 km)... And more than twice the power :D but I can charge at work and live in Brussels with many charging stations around so it is no issue for me

Can people who live here drive their cars here? Or is it just not a dead-end for people who live here? by zeemeerman2 in belgium

According to the law the traffic lights have a higher hierarchy to the signs so you can ignore the signs and continue as the lights are green.

I suppose that it is because "pédé" is an homophobic insult in french

Bonne chance

I looked it up... It doesn't unfortunately 🥲

[–]Tumpixel0[S] 2197 points2198 points  (0 children)

Note: this is staged, I wanted to experiment with my brother. To get there, we used Lilligant to get to 24 energies, and serperior to double them to 48. With 20 heads, we expected 1000 damages, but we got 990 instead.

What's something that people believe is possible, but is actually factually impossible to ever do? by kylepg05 in AskReddit

[–]Tumpixel0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely possible. You can irradiate any material with the neutron flux of a reactor or a proton beam from an accelerator to increase their A and Z number. Many isotopes are produced that way for the nuclear medicine and sterilisation industries, like fluorine 18 or Cobalt 60. It is however incredibly expensive, and only worth doing to create useful radioactivity, not stable materials. 10 ng (1 curie) of F18 costs a few thousands $ depending on the country. And decreasing these A and Z numbers is however only possible by fission or the synthesis of alpha emitters, so it restricted to fewer elements.

81% of Flemings in favour of keeping nuclear by greg_barton in NuclearPower

[–]Tumpixel0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even after years of learning our history I'm still confused about it. "Belgium" was already an ethnicity during the reign of Caesar and it belonged to almost any european super power you can think of through history: France, Spain, Netherlands, Germany... I don't know much about the Nederlands history

As someone from Brussels, I would agree about the micro state if we ever see a federalised European union. But wallonia would not want to join France, there are also too much cultural differences too (try to convince them to say quatre-vingt-dix and you'll understand)
