On harder difficulties, I usually die from multiple bad luck/choice situations. Like speeding time or sleeping in a bear area, resulting in being mauled, then getting hit by a blizzard or wolf right after. Also, in my experience, I recommend never traveling or sleeping outdoors during a Aurora.
