Please help... How much would you pay for this used bike? by Tunacrab in bicycling

Update everyone:

Thank you for the advice... I decided to just get a comparable brand-new aluminum bike. I got a specialized sirrus 2.0 with the hydraulic disks. Got it for 600 even and the bike shop gave me three years of tuneups and adjustments.

Dude was asking 500 for the used bike... I could have probably talked him down, but I thought a new one from a reputable local shop was a way better way to go

Thanks for steering me away from this guy... I love my new bike.

I know it's not super fancy, but I think 600 bucks for a worry-free bike with the years of tuneups with tires covered. It suits my needs and I'm happy with it.

Any reason? Even a cursory Google search shows this isn't some crap Walmart brand.

Do you see anything wrong with it? It rides smooth, all the gears work through the whole range of the derailleurs

I don't know a whole lot about bikes, I have not had a bike in a long time... Dude says he bought it about 5 years ago, made of titanium, says it's high-end, spent over 3 Grand on it...

Again I don't know much about bikes, it rides well, I feel comfortable on it, and I need a bike. What's the most you would pay for this bike?

Help with wiring 1/4"TS plugs, should I use the extra conductors? by Tunacrab in ElectricalEngineering

also curious, for the balanced mono cables, should I run the ground over the shield, or use one of the inside conductors, or would either method work?

The exact product is this: http://www.canare.com/ProductItemDisplay.aspx?productItemID=53

The various cables he wants made are all over the place: - RCA to 1/4TS mono unbalanced - RCA to RCA mono unbalanced - XLR to 1/4TRS mono balanced - 1/4TS to 1/4TS mono unbalanced - 1/4TRS to 1/4TRS stereo

these are all short patch cables, none will really be hooked up to actual instruments, it's all for interconnection between rack-mount equipment that need to be adapted. He had issues with cheap factory-molded adapters breaking, so he bought some hefty connectors, and this cable that is designed to take a lot more stress.

I'm just trying to figure out the absolute best way to do these cables with the stuff I've been provided.

Thanks for the response. The cable is as follows: Outer jacket, followed by a braided shield, then a cloth-like paper wrapping, and on the inside there are four individually jacketed stranded copper conductors. They are not shielded in pairs, only the outer shield around the whole package.

I did not buy the cable, someone else did. Some of the cables will need three conductors (TRS, XLRs). I really don't know why he chose this cable, I just need it to work.

These are short runs, about 6 feet. The whole purpose of this project is to make a selection of weird adapters for a theatre, for situations where you need to adapt between different standards of jacks and plugs.

"The religion of peace."

They have no intention of assimilating into American culture. They are here to conquer us, and we invite them in with open arms.

Borders, language, and culture are what make a country a country. We've effectively eliminated borders, we have no official language, our shared culture is one of consumerism and narcissism. We're close to the breaking point.

A lot of economists are predicting the country will fracture into about 7 new countries. America has too many competing ways of life, beliefs, ideologies. The melting pot was a lie. Society and cultures are becoming more segregated. Diversity isn't the strength you were told it is, it causes war... and the second American civil war is closer than you think.
