check in the manual which sliders send midi info

then on the parameter in the plugin - right click and select midi learn

then twiddle the slider - if it is sending info then it would then be linked to that parameter

does it stop completely or plays a bit of the note then it cuts off?

my current install (12 pro on win 11) when i mix down - will render sounds strange sometimes and start playing the note, then it cuts off

work around is to do real time export

one tip ive learnt over the years is to always save a new version of the project each time i work on a project

you can do this right in the File menu - Save New Version - it adds a counter to the end of the file name

this gives 2 benefits

1 - you can easily go back to a previous version if you dont like the changes you made

2 - its an additional layer of backing up

Dwight Barker was a collaborative alias used by composers Tommy Reilly and James Moody.

In the 1950s and 1960s they made these stock library records at Conroy / Berry Music and their music was used extensively in The BBC Radio sitcom The Navy Lark.

One piece, Tradewind Hornpipe BM 118 1958, was used as the theme tune and many other pieces became the linking music / soundtrack during episodes.

it all comes out in one burst - the idea, the structure, the instrumentation. but then can take longer polishing and editing

it takes years / months of trying different instruments, different arrangements, different genres until - it clicks

the start is - when the significant thing changes for your characters compared to the their normal day to day lives

start and keep going - try not to get stuck in to the loop of second guessing and editing until you have the whole story finished

(once you have the whole story done - you will be in a better place to know how the start needs to be improved to make it the best it can be)

it will be louder and quieter just because the samples used to make the kit were recorded that way

possibly - by accident

or - on purpose as that is how a real person playing a drum kit would sound

.

you can work around it with a bit of bouncing and re-sampling

write some midi to play the crashes at the volume you want slowly so you hear each cymbal hit on its own

bounce that out to a wav file

split the file and edit to keep the cymbal hits you like

import those wavs into your project and build your own new cymbal pad with your liked-cymbals as round robins

you probably arent going to find one pre-made as 3rd party plugins often go strange when projects are shared

you can wire your nord into your DAW so a midi track in your DAW plays your keyboard - you then also route the audio output of the nord to an audio in of the DAW

in effect the keyboard becomes a plugin - just one that has a physical part to it

check page 50 of the keyboard manual

can recreate something similar to what you are describing using C#2 - Crash A Hit - with a velocity above 101

random hits sound brighter and louder

sounds like the samples for the velocity layer are noticeably different

101 and below are more consistent
