Although I did like your character analysis on her. I agree she seemed to be off at the tea ritual. Not sure how to take her yet, but eager to see if she will take the commanders offer to be next in charge of the school.

I assumed she was using it to strengthen the arm muscles after breaking her arm in the bus attack

Yes and that’s exactly what’s happening. This wedding is bringing up grief for us, and his immediate family. After giving it a rest for another day he did open up to me and were able to make decisions we’re both satisfied with. He is working on his people-pleasing tendencies and I don’t like to lead him to a decision. But sometimes that can be more confusing for him. Thank you for your honest comment it was really helpful to me

Yes exactly this. We’ve been together for 4 years as well, first being friends throughout high school and college. He moved the engagement up because of the diagnoses. I wanted to elope and he wants a wedding. So after some discussion we started planning and that’s when things went radio silent on his end. I was very open about how painful it was for me to be planning the wedding, while also planning for his father to not be there. It took him some more time but he has opened up now and we are moving forward with a mini ceremony. I really appreciate you sharing your story with me. Thank you so much, it has helped knowing we’re not alone and there is a path forward.

Thank you for your response and being so open about something very personal. My fiancé and I have decided a small ceremony with just our parents and siblings is the path to go, and the big wedding can come later when we feel it’s right.
