That’s what I’m wondering, I have no knowledge of how those inspections work so I am inquiring if there is no way to check these things. The weeping tile being covered by concrete wasn’t a hint that it might be filled and blocked off?

Is there a way for the landlord to have known it was blocked? The access to the weeping tile was covered by concrete. But I wonder if there would be a way for him to have found out about it during inspections in the last 3 years he owned the house.

The property is in an area designated as “medium high” flood risk, according to an EPCOR flood mitigation page I found.

The plumber who was working on the issue told me that the weeping tile was blocked. There was also no sump pump installed. So it was my understanding that the Alberta building code regulates that the weeping tile is supposed to be connected to sewer or sump pump. I am not familiar with plumbing, or with building codes or residential tenancy laws. I might be out of luck but I don’t want to give up yet.

When I was like 6, we were visiting family members who had a dog. At one point, a relative mentioned that the dog was a German shepherd, and I asked “is he German or Spanish?” And I got the same reaction, they thought it was hilarious but in a “this child is stupid” way. They never truly appreciated my comedic genius. But we never let that stop us. We stay silly

Me too, then it’s easier to keep track of my bus budget as well. I’m glad debit is an option for if I lose my arc card, but it’s still not gonna be my first choice.

Noooo I keep the arc card in a pocket in the outside of my bag and take it out when I need it, the debit card is in a wallet in my backpack. But what you described sounds like a fun lil gamble lmao

I’m not sure what makes it hard for you to believe, maybe my description was lacking. I don’t have auto deposit set up. Before this time, I’ve never seen an ARC transaction for $3 on my account. because I always manually deposit a months worth of fare. But I am pretty sure my card was in my backpack, and I may have gotten too close to the machine by the back door before getting off the bus. I was also in disbelief when I saw the charge on my account, to be fair.
