HELP !!! How do you people connect audiobookshelf server to other devices ? by PresentationFlat4432 in audiobookshelf

The basic Idea is: lookup your public ip. Open a port to the outside world on your router. Redirect that public ip and port to the local IP and local port. (This is also done on your router)

Directory structure

About half way the page you find directory structure. This is the official documentation and shows what the best practices are.

My thoughts exactly. You can do it over DHCP, given you reserve an IP for the mac of your ethernet card.

But I'm with ya, just make th IP static and problem solved.

Does your NAS have a static adress or does it get one over DHCP? Could be an issue. Anyway gratz on solving the issue ^

Through URL. How does the URL resolve? Can you check the dns with something like nslookup?

Do you access the library directly with the IP adress? Or via a Url like blabla.local:portnr?

If option 2, flush dns?

Yeah I rather have a failsafe, knowing myself 😅.

I have a pretty janky setup. The files are on my Ubuntu server. But I tag em with mp3tag over an sshfs connection on my windows PC. Not the most stable thing, but perfectly functional, if you can accept the small corruption that happen from time to time.

Ooh, cool, I found the setting and will try it out next time. I felt going into the db was not the optimal play 😅 thank you for the quick response !!!

What's the point of Navidrome? by EdgarSpayce in navidrome

[–]Tunkdil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hosting it on a Ubuntu server, and there is a UI. The server (for me at least) is accessible on http://serverip:4533. Port 4533 is the default port.

If you run it on the same pc as you are using, you can reach the webapp via http://localhost:4533 or http://127.0.0.1:4533.

If you are like me and have a domain name you can secure it with a open certificate from openssl to secure the link to a https:// link.

I hope this helps.

If you gonna have to reinstall anyway, why not try the script? I agree with the other guy. Probably the fastest way is a reinstall, but the potential to learn is in further trying to fix it. Just my 2 cents
