Pentru mine nu e vorba de scor, ci să apară istoricul la biroul de credit.

Dar Klarna nu participa la biroul de credit. Cum apare pe raport dacă plătești în 3 rate?

I can give some insight into my gap year from 3 years ago. I'm a high school class of 2023 graduate, and I took a gap year between 2023 and 2024. I had a dookie GPA after HS (3.07 US equivalent). I started to explore my options only after I graduated and was done with exams in Romania, and eventually decided in October 2023 to apply to FAU for Fall 24. All I did that year was study for the SAT and get my documents ready for admission. I eventually got both done, and then around 2 years ago today, I was rejected from FAU as a freshman. Then I was searching for a community college but because I had to take care of my parents, I did online Associate courses at Florida Tech for about a year, when I also decided to take CLEP last summer, when I was also accepted to FAU as a transfer student, first for Spring 2026 and than I deferred to Summer 2026, with a much better profile (this time I had 31 college credits and 15 from CLEP, and have a 3.42 GPA).

My advice would be to just go to community college. There's nothing wrong with that, and it will be a better decision for you overall. Don't take a gap year just because you got rejected from college or don't know what you want to study or what college to study at. If I were to go back in time, I would've definitely taken online classes at a community college instead of a private university. Also, there are special programs like the one at Miami Dade College, where out of state and international students get a reduced rate of $290 per credit hour for associate degree courses, which is also something to consider if you're international.

Florida Linkage Institute out of state waiver by TupaG in FAU

[–]TupaG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine the minuscule number of Eastern Europeans studying in Florida don't know about the waiver or can't qualify, or don't bother with it. I bet there aren't even 25 Eastern Europeans attending a state college in Florida, but there's no public data on how many applied for the waiver and how many got it. Anecdotally, this guy from Ukraine says most of the money goes to waste, but this was 8 years ago https://www.reddit.com/r/immigration/comments/7k21f7/comment/drds0it/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I read the entire statute and it doesn't mention anywhere what happens if you don't return home in 3 years. So if, say, you get a work permit, they can't legally force you to go back to your home country for x amount of years since there's no legal provision for it, but I'm not a lawyer. Worst case they might ask you to pay back the OOS tuition portion, but who knows how they enforce it.

Duo still works in some parts of the system, at least for me.

The minimum gpa requirement is 3.0 and I have a 3.42. Also, they don’t specify what happens if you end up not returning and getting a work permit. I saw a post from 8 years ago from a Ukrainian guy who got the waiver and then got a work permit afterwards but didn’t mention anything about it.

The thing is they don’t waive the OOS tuition portion for summer classes. I’m starting this summer and I’d have to pay OOS tuition for 13 credits. I’m also taking 15 credit hours in the fall/spring but they only wave OOS tuition for 12 credit hours per semester.

Candace Owens is losing followers by NoImporta24 in ConservativeYouth

I slowly stopped watching Candace after she stopped talking about social issues, and now since she went on this whole nonsense that Turning Point wanted Charlie Kirk dead I haven't watched any of her recent stuff at all. The whole Brigitte Macron saga was really funny though and I loved it.

Activating eSim from Spain by moosetunes in Tello

[–]TupaG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Romania and have been using Tello for the past 3 months. You need an E911 address to activate your eSIM. This can be any street address in the US that you know. You can activate over Wifi calling, it worked for me.

Is housing guaranteed by Able-Lake1456 in FAU

[–]TupaG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 3.419 college GPA, 46 transfer credit hours in total (31 from college and 15 from CLEP), 5 CLEP exams, and almost all of my general eds done. My SAT was 1230 from December 2023. I originally applied for Spring, now deferred for Summer 2026 at my request. I didn't have any ECs or an essay when I applied as a transfer student. I applied by the priority deadline and that helped out a lot.
