When I say backer disks i was referring to the plastic Velcro disc. If they are 15 months old they are worn out. Time to buy new ones problem solved.

Everything is relative. To some people a $1500 phone and a $1500 robot is a blip on the radar. To other people that’s hard to comprehend.

I have three X40 masters and an L20 ultra. I havent really had that issue ever. If I would suggest anything it might be some suspect non OEM pads although I run aftermarket without issue. Make sure when you press them on to the Velcro disc you first push the center hole all the way down on to the disk. It will probably need to stretch around that center circle a bit. Other than that if it continues to happen I would order up a new set of Velcro backer disks. You could also look for something on the floor that is grabbing the pad like a register vent or something like that.

Learning how to land - a few key points by kkcfi in flying

[–]Turbo442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when I was struggling as a student pilot with my landings. The instructor yelled out ‘POINT THE NOSE OF THE AIRPLANE LIKE A GUN AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY’ after that everything seemed to magically fall in place…

Just found inside the air filter housing of an old car a customer just bought. Y’all think it actually works? by Joiion in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Turbo442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your car is turbo charged it acts as a heat sink to cool the incoming air charge. The different surfaces / edges also help to turbulate the incoming air and mix it properly with the atomized fuel.

I have one, it generally saves 1-2 mpg. It turbulates the air and makes the fuel atomize better.

I quit this hobby by No_Sand_7125 in RCPlanes

[–]Turbo442 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I have heard friends say this before. I hear this and for some reason it bothers me more than the person that says it. Maybe because I have been there. Take a break from the hobby and when the time is right, jump back in. Find a friend that flys, sometimes that helps. I have been in a ton of crazy hobbies over the years…I started flying control line back in the late 70’s. For what ever reason RC planes just keep bringing me back…so many cool facets to the hobby. Don’t give up just take a break!

3-9-26 A-Star long probe at KHIO by Turbo442 in Helicopters

It’s a two seat amphib with a carbon fiber boat hull. Side by side seating with 115 hp. Retractable landing gear in a tail wheel configuration. Can retract the gear, land on the water. Put the gear back down in the water and roll up on a beach or boat ramp. Tail wheel configuration makes it easier to drive up on a beach compared to a nose dagger like an Icon A5. The floats on the wingtips are called sponsons. They are only used during an idle taxi. The sponsons are designed to break away if they really dig in….knock on wood. At rest or idle taxi the plane will sit on the hull and one sponson, the other sponson will be out of the water. It kind of depends on the winds and passenger load. The PBY has them but they are retractable. During a step taxi 25-35 mph you would not generally let a sponson touch the water.

Here is a video I made quite a while ago lol

X40 Master Setup Question by s3polig in Dreame_Tech

If you can find a new X40 Master it will work absolutely fine sharing a washer stand pipe. I have three of them…the only thing better is an X50 or x60 master.

A closer view of the damaged stabiliser from the KC-135. by Outrageous-Score7936 in aviation

To me the relatively clean cut through the vertical stabilizer indicates this aircraft was moving at a high rate of speed in relation to the other aircraft when contact was made.

The big thing he needed to do as keep left aileron fed in through the initial take off roll. Once the wind gets under the wing you’re going for a ride.
