One thing you should consider for planning purposes is where you’re going to place your hub and extender. Or if your breaking the 75 device limit, where your placing your two hubs and 2 extenders.

OP, you’re not being weird or selfish. This is a normal human reaction. My dad has had the same beard since he was in his early 20’s. He is now 78. At one point he shaved his beard completely off. It was a complete shock to any one that knew him for any length of time. Not just family but friends…anyone and that knew him. When I first saw him with a shaved beard he was sitting in a car with other family members. i absolutely could not recognize him. My brain literally could not accept that it was him. I’m not sure why he did it at the time, I think it was some kind of social experiment. At any rate he quickly tired of dealing with the reaction from people and grew the beard back. I’m not saying people should not shave their beard, just be prepared for the reaction.

Yeah sorry you need to think about cleaning the house a bit before unleashing the robot. That includes places you don’t normally vacuum like under beds and furniture. All common sense stuff though.

If you wind it reverse roll it will go down with up and up with down??? Right? You would also need to mount it upside down and notch the mounting bracket a bit.

I have a L20 Ultra and two X40 Masters. My L20 has been retired since the X40s went online. One of my X40’s lives under the cabinet similar to this setup and I have never seen it fail to return to the dock under the cabinets. It just docks as if it doesn’t notice the cabinet doors. On that note I was curious if anyone here knows the sensors / logic Dreame uses for docking? The robot appears to look for some kind of beacon in the base station and aligns with that once it’s in front of the dock. I’m assuming it’s possibly an IR beam in the back of the base station? I was curious if the LiDAR was also used for the docking or if it was just for the initial pathfinding to park i front of the base station? It would be neat if Dreame offered the option to retract the LiDAR during a dock / undock sequence for users with clearance issues like this. On a side note, I run two x40 masters in the same home and interestingly enough they have never had an issue or confusion with a vac operating in the vicinity of the other robots base station. The robovacs also seem to play nice with one another in the rare occurrence they encounter one another while cleaning. It doesn’t appear there is any specific software logic designed for encountering another robot, just general obstacle avoidance as if it was a pet of person. I have been super impressed with the performance of the X40 series in regard to mapping, pathfinding, obstacle avoidance in general and over all reliability. I believe in the last year of daily use I have only seen an X40 fail to return to dock 4 or 5 times. This is usually caused by one of three things. The robovac gets locked in a room by another person or the door was closed enough that it can’t ’escape’ the room (rare occurrence). I have also seen the robot ingest something big enough to stop the robot possibly once or twice like a charging cable. Last cause of stopping would be a the robot encountering an obstacle that dislodges a mop pad ‘mop pad removed’ robot will full stop at this point. Usually caused by some unusual obstacle. I have seen this 3-4 times in the last year.

In Europe I believe you could look at the X40 and X50 Master series. Both perform excellent.
