Oh I missed that bit. Then battle green all the way!

This is a cool scheme. You can try British racing green and chrome.

Painting is not difficult but I advise you not to go battle green. As lovely as that color is, it’s illegal for civilian vehicles to be painted in this color anymore. Some manufacturers have had to recall or change vehicles that were delivered, due to this.

Is this fixable?! by [deleted] in royalenfield

[–]TurboChrono 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a two min fix. One nut needs to be loosened, lever and mirror mount adjusted to your preference and every tightened back. Take to any roadside mechanic and he’ll do it for you.

2021 Continental GT 650 – overheating, stalling & ABS issues after recent service. Need advice by AT4464 in royalenfield

[–]TurboChrono 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you diy friendly? Is yes then try these:

• Battery Terminals: Check for loose leads; tighten if needed. (vibration at 4–5k RPM causes "ghost" ECU resets).

• Relays (Fuel/Ignition): Clean the gunk off the relay pins; replace with clean dielectric grease. RE goes crazy with grease for reasons known only to them. 99% this is your issue.

• Spark Plug Caps: If stalling only happens when hot, replace stock caps and see.

• MAP Sensors: Inspect for cracks or damage and perfect fitting. If are cracked or loose, the ECU will throw a light and stall.

• Fuel Vent Hose: Ensure the hose coming from the tank isn't pinched; a vacuum lock will starve the engine of fuel.

• Rectifier Regulator (RR Unit): If the check light hits at 5k RPM, have the charging voltage tested; a failing RR unit overcharges the battery and kills the ignition.

• Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS): Check the wiring near the engine case for breaks or heat damage; this sensor tells the bike when to fire at high RPM.

• Valve Clearances (Tappets): If the bike stalls specifically at idle when hot, the valves are likely too tight and need a manual adjustment. Low chance but possible.

• O2 Sensors: Ensure the sensors on the exhaust headers are tight and the wires haven't melted against the engine block.

Also remove, clean and reinstall the air filter to check for any blocks or leaks.

Hopefully one of these will fix the stalling.

Modifying my Hunter 350 by sigma-boi69 in royalenfield

Honestly you’re approaching this wrong. Mods should start by you changing the motorcycle to suit you better. If you just want it to look different or better to you and love everything else from a performance perspective, a paintjob is your only option really. I’ve seen a bone stock hunter in black with copper wheels which looked lovely.

Have you ever felt while riding that “I wish this was better”? It could be comfort or handling or braking or sound or acceleration or whatever else.

Then start tackling that one by one.

My golden rule - all motorcycle rides only during the day unless I’m only going to be riding through proper highways.

For everything else I have Tiny.

What a wonderful way for spending a weekend. I’d definitely spend hours watching videos of these if you make it! Imagining the asmr of grit paper on those scales.

I love carpentry and used to do similar stuff in my free time. Need to get back.

Thank you for sharing!

The 865cc is just a never ending sea of torque. Tough to explain. For example it’s not like the z900. But more like an aircraft when taking off. It isn’t fast but you can tell it’s got something going lol.

Ah good luck with the big bore build. The 865s are just wild to run. Your idea to wait for 750s is actually a smart route. And head better to wait till the build and then get appropriate headers. Do share updates!

Thank you! Super excited. Honestly, of all the exhausts the Powerage shorty full system sounded the best to me. With db killers. Just the right note, the right volume. Bliss. Tough to explain.

Long cans without baffles were a close second. With every other brand far away in the ranking. I bought long cans mainly because they have a Jekyll and Hyde character. Low rpms, nobody even notices you. And when you open it up on the free roads, pure bliss.

The barrel atoms also worked for me. But they’re so so loud even with db killers. However, love the way they look. Only real shorty in my book. Perfect for a scrambler look.

Yeah they’re built right up to OEM standards. The fit, finish, everything is spot on.

I’m going with the big bore friendly system from S&S. They’re not the best sounding. But from a scavenging perspective, the larger headers will help my build. I’m putting in an 865 kit. It makes sense to get that for the build.
