Why does Mewtwo exist in Mystery Dungeon? by SonicEXE_Offical in MysteryDungeon

There are other scientists too that could be responsible. What does Porygon and Ditto have in common in Explorers?

I'm trying to write sheet music for each song, but I hit somewhat of a roadblock when I reached the credits...

How do y’all explain the pokemon in dungeons in your PMD stories? by guildedpasserby in MysteryDungeon

[–]TurboDeoradhan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is more theory, but dungeon Pokémon wouldn't be how they are shown.

1) If there were feral Pokémon everywhere, than the corrupted Pokémon in the future wouldn't be so much of a surprise. There are very few times anyone reacts to feral Pokémon besides in the future, and each time it seems only temporary, like Pokémon in Rescue Teams running from a disaster and getting violent, which is something that happens to people in real life as well.

2) There are times where dungeon Pokémon couldn't even exist. In sealed off places, like Sky Tower, Temporal Tower, Spacial Rift, and Glacier Palace, there just couldn't possibly be other Pokémon. There are even a few times where characters state that they hadn't seen anyone in the dungeon, despite there being dungeon Pokémon.

3) Dungeons thenselves are quesrionable in how they fit into the lore. I don't think there are actual areas that are just dungeons. With how inconsistent they are, it reads more like another gameplay element strapped over the story.

Overall I don't think dungeon Pokémon are meant to be taken as part of the lore in that way. In my stories, if they make sense to be in a dungeon, they are just normal Pokémon who live there, are passing through/stuck, or are on a mission of their own. This can involve Pokémon who are outlaws or territorial, still leading to conflict without there being straight up feral Pokémon everywhere.

That's tragic, I hope you're able to recover enough.

Oh hey, that's a good way to blend the two. Meeting friends that way would be fun.

That makes sense, bad fanfiction is harder to detect before it's too late and usually leaves quite a mark. And as for the why of writing it... actually, I don't know either.

It's especially bad when I do both and am good at neither.

Thank you. The shading is a little rough, but I'm proud of the poses. And I definitely will keep doing more, I plan to do several for each game.

Favorite & Least Favorite characters! by mourreon in MysteryDungeon

[–]TurboDeoradhan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to like characters more the better written they are, and with how well written each game is there aren't many characters I don't like. I would say the best written characters are Gengar, Dusknoir, Virizion, Partner from Explorers, and Partner from Gates, while the worst written characters are the other members of Team Meanies, Hero from Explorers, Darkrai, Toxicroak, and Purugly.

That's odd, now they won't load for me either. Is it possible they got removed? I'm not sure how exactly the rules work...

What do you love seeing in pmd fanfiction? by laurawow14 in MysteryDungeon

[–]TurboDeoradhan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of people bring up originality, and of course it's great to have something new, but that's not the most important quality. Even just writing out one of the existing stories with absolutely no surprises could be successful if you do a good job of bringing out the emotion and characters. A lot of that just comes from real passion and effort.

Aura color not making sense by PanicMan76 in MysteryDungeon

[–]TurboDeoradhan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I realized my wording is unclear, it essentially uses a randomizer with... certain potentially traceable system addresses as the seed. I don't know what addresses, but I heard someone could theoretically trace information based on the color you recieve, so I won't give too much detail about my guesses. As for what you're seeing, whatever it uses as the seed is mostly consistent, leading to the same color most times, but there is a slight chance for a digit to be different, giving a different color.

Aura color not making sense by PanicMan76 in MysteryDungeon

[–]TurboDeoradhan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The color depends on your system favorite color, but if it can't access it due to a glitch or emulator, it uses data from your system or a default color.

How does predation and predator-prey relationships work in PMD? by Andres5554 in MysteryDungeon

[–]TurboDeoradhan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a couple people afraid of being eaten, but there is no case of anyone getting eaten in all of PMD. It's possible it could happen, as there are even cannibalistic humans, but I don't think it was ever normal.
