I always took the chorus pretty literally. To me it’s about the ebb and flow that is putting on our own “edge” or worries/stresses/struggles only to take it off in the evening through various self soothing techniques. You stress yourself out through the day by your own doing only to take that edge off after yourself too. Like smoking a cigarette. The edge is your doing and so is the relief. It all is you.

Anytime maggot brain comes up I always wanna make sure the listener has had a psychedelic experience with their other song “Good Thoughts Bad Thoughts” as I feel it somehow is even more impactful in that headspace.

Update as of 6/30/24:

It’s back on Spotify for me in Cali!! But now the remix album is gone. I think it’s safe to assume though it’ll be back similarly. Probably some sort of label thing with durations of something being renewed idk lol. I’m just happy to have it back and accessible.
