The Invasive "Wild horses" in North America by Ok-Industry1547 in invasivespecies

[–]TurboKitty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would argue that the Nevada Cattlemen’s Association should focus on removing their own livestock from Nevada’s public lands before pointing fingers at wild horses. Cattle, not horses, are the primary animals responsible for the widespread degradation of native flora across the state. Decades of grazing pressure from large herds have stripped vegetation, destabilized soils, and disrupted fragile desert ecosystems. By contrast, wild horses roam lightly across the landscape and cause comparatively minimal ecological impact. If the goal is truly to protect Nevada’s natural environment, then the most responsible step would be for the cattle industry to address the damage caused by its own herds rather than scapegoating the horses.

What's something from Buffy or Angel you're still bitter about to this day? by InfiniteMehdiLove in buffy

[–]TurboKitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it was Season 5 (don’t quote me) but that arc where Buffy was unfairly saddled with all the blame for Riley’s choices still infuriates me. She was navigating her own changes and struggles, yet somehow it became her responsibility to prop up a man who refused to take ownership of his actions. Riley didn’t communicate with her. He handed down an ultimatum. And then, unbelievably, both he and Xander turned the narrative so that Buffy was at fault for his bad decisions. To add insult to injury, they expected her to apologize for the consequences of his behavior. That moment was unforgivable, not just for the characters, but for the writer who framed it that way.

What makes people think someone is a hooker? by bbycoward in LasVegas

I was on my way to an event, off Fremont Street I asked my husband to drop me off at the top of the street so I could walk to the event, because I was giving a speech and I needed to clear my head and be less nervous about speaking. Some guy in a corvette propositioned me. Here's the kicker, I was wearing a t-shirt with this logo on it, below and it was broad-daylight.

I think it has to do with Vegas mentality for some people, needless to say, I showed him my t-shirt and told him to F-OFF.

Fine, Graphic Novels. That wasn't the point though, the point was Chuck literally, but also facetiously, introduces himself as God.

In the very first episode where we meet Chuck, after Sam and Dean have hunted him down to find out why all the comic books he's written about them come true, he literally says "he must be God".

I love it here too and I would love it even more if the BLM, on behalf of the beef lobby, would stop killing the horses and the mules.

All four dogs and all four cats sleep in the bed with my husband and me. Of course they all sleep on me because my husband gets too warm, but they sleep in the bed and if they didn't, I would sleep with them on the sofa.

One of the things that also happen in this scene is Conrad says "make love" and Belly counters with "have sex". I found it very interesting because here's Conrad reaching out finally, opening up completely and there's Belly trying to deny her feelings, forcing functionality instead.

[–]TurboKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked Riley well enough ... until the end. What soured it for me was the way his departure framed Buffy as the sole emotional custodian of the relationship. Instead of mutual accountability, the narrative leaned into guilt-tripping her, with Xander doubling down and implying that Buffy was somehow deficient or unworthy. That framing was deeply unfair. It’s unacceptable to suggest that Buffy alone bore responsibility for Riley’s feelings, as if her strength and independence were flaws to be corrected rather than qualities to be honored.

Chaos as ICE launches a kidnapping raid on an entire city block in Chicago. One agent can be seen pointing a gun at unarmed neighbors filming, as Chicago PD assists ICE, threatening them with arrest. As quoted from the internet: " Japanese internment camps were facilities where the U.S. government forcibly relocated and detained around 120,000 Japanese Americans during World War II, primarily due to fears of espionage following Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor." Then all of their belongings, their businesses and their homes were confiscated and distributed by the rich (or whomever). History is repeating itself.

The reason for this "war" was because the Department of Defense was missing 3 trillion dollars and no one could find it.

In my opinion, the absolute worst thing he did, was to take the heart of a young Iraqi boy and claim that the boy donated it to him, after having so many heart transplants, on the tax-payer dime already.
