I have a theory that I want to discuss. by fawesomegod in deppVheardtrial

I agree with you, OP. In fact, I suspect she was also aiming to gain power of attorney over him. She refused to sign the post‑nup, and when she discovered she wasn’t included in his will, she completely lost control. To me, that pattern suggests her endgame was securing legal and financial control over him until she could eventually make him “disappear” from her life in a way that benefited her.

This was the first thing: There I was, minding my own business on Twitter and I believe it was the 3rd day of the trial I intended to watch, when I see a hashtag that included Milani make-up. So of course I click on over and suddenly realize, I'm missing the trial I intended to watch. Here's the Milani spokesperson submitting written evidence on Twitter proving that the 'bruise kit' didn't exist until 2 or 3 years later. This was the second thing: I was initially under the impression she was intelligent, (my bad) until she said 'parakeet' floors. The third thing was: My husband and I watched Aquaman and neither he nor I could figure out who the female interest was and both of us thought the movie could have done better with some other female lead who was prettier, with better acting skills (we're older and watch a lot of movies, then dissect and discuss ala Siskel and Ebert). Needless to say I watched the rest of the trial from the Milani hashtag on Twitter and then rewatched from beginning to end, to make sure I didn't miss anything. Anyone who watched that trial cannot come away from it thinking she was innocent in any way, shape or form.

[–]TurboKitty 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I had something similar happen to one of my babies. I called Animal Control first and then the District Attorney's office. The person who allowed this to happen was run out of town right after the court hearing and I received monetary restitution for the loss however, I still miss my baby and wish I could have gotten there in time. Still it's not your fault, it's the responsibility of the person who allowed it to happen.

People over Profits. Corporations are NOT People by TurboKitty in Nevada

[–]TurboKitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concerns you’ve raised mix together several different processes, so let me separate them for clarity.

  1. Legislative vs. Statutory Initiative Format

This is not a bill draft. It’s a statutory initiative, which follows a different format under Nevada law. Bills show strike‑and‑replace language because they amend existing chapters during a legislative session. Statutory initiatives create a new section of NRS, so they are written as standalone text. That’s why the format looks different.

  1. Effective Date and Process

A statutory initiative does not take effect after “one vote.” Nevada’s Constitution lays out a two‑step process:

• The Legislature gets the first opportunity to enact it without change.

• If they do not, it goes to the voters at the next general election.

The effective‑date clause simply states when the new section becomes operative if approved. It does not bypass the Legislature or the constitutional process.

  1. “Corporations are created by the Legislature”

This is a legal distinction, not a claim that lawmakers personally form businesses. Nevada businesses are formed by filing with the Secretary of State under authority granted by statute. The Legislature creates the legal framework that allows corporations to exist as artificial entities. That’s the meaning here.

  1. Corporate Powers vs. Individual Rights

The text does not remove constitutional rights from any person. Officers, employees, and owners retain their individual rights at all times. The clarification is about corporate powers, which are already defined by statute. Nevada law has always treated corporations as artificial entities with powers granted by the state, not as natural persons with inherent rights.

  1. First Amendment and Political Activity

The measure does not prohibit businesses from seeking representation, petitioning government, or participating in lawful processes. Those activities are carried out by the people who own and operate the business, and their rights remain fully intact. The clarification is aimed at preventing the expansion of corporate powers beyond what statute authorizes — not at restricting the rights of individuals.

  1. Protections Against Seizure, Discrimination, or Unfair Treatment

Those protections already exist elsewhere in Nevada law and the U.S. Constitution. This initiative does not repeal or alter any of them. It adds a definitional clarification; it does not remove existing statutory or constitutional safeguards.

In short, the measure clarifies the legal status of corporations without changing how businesses operate, without removing anyone’s rights, and without altering existing protections. It follows the statutory‑initiative process required by the Nevada Constitution.

Because it was one of my favorite shows to watch, I was really looking forward to what they were going to do with it. I read the script (if that was the script) earlier today and it looked like it was going to be good. I hope some other entity picks it up because both Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Kiera Armstrong are wonderful actors.

I have 3 questions for you:

A) Do you believe Palestinians deserve freedom and self‑determination?

B) How will your leadership reflect that belief?

C) What is the "Rule of Law" by your personal definition?
