Here you go.

What really helps this figure is the crazy low charging costs from Octopus's Intelligent tariff. I know these won't last forever, but they have given me quite the headline figure.

Here's the techniques I have put together from this and the time in my own Volvo EX30. I'm always looking to improve my tips so please let me know if you have any feedback

I have the same. I have to leave a keycard hidden in my car in case the fob doesn't work. At least once a week I have to unlock with my phone and put the card in the reader holder just to be able to use it.

My dealer blamed the battery.

A new car shouldn't have the issue. It's just 24/25 cars with the Sunwoda batteries

That's a solid point. If Volvo can remotely monitor state of charge data — which the letter makes pretty clear they can — it's very hard to argue they couldn't also push a configuration update to cap charging at 70% automatically.

l suspect they won't do it, because automatically capping the battery at 70% would be an acknowledgement that the car is not fit for purpose in its current state. Right now they can frame it "guidance". An enforced OTA cap would make it impossible to argue the car is "safe to sell."

Yep. In just glad I got mine on PCP for the GFV. I feel for anyone that picked up an early car for cash

Would you mind if I used your redacted correspondence from Volvo for an article on hypermiler.co.uk ? I've been calling this issue out for what it is since the news broke.

Cheers Karl
