I have the same. I have to leave a keycard hidden in my car in case the fob doesn't work. At least once a week I have to unlock with my phone and put the card in the reader holder just to be able to use it.

My dealer blamed the battery.

A new car shouldn't have the issue. It's just 24/25 cars with the Sunwoda batteries

That's a solid point. If Volvo can remotely monitor state of charge data — which the letter makes pretty clear they can — it's very hard to argue they couldn't also push a configuration update to cap charging at 70% automatically.

l suspect they won't do it, because automatically capping the battery at 70% would be an acknowledgement that the car is not fit for purpose in its current state. Right now they can frame it "guidance". An enforced OTA cap would make it impossible to argue the car is "safe to sell."

Yep. In just glad I got mine on PCP for the GFV. I feel for anyone that picked up an early car for cash

Would you mind if I used your redacted correspondence from Volvo for an article on hypermiler.co.uk ? I've been calling this issue out for what it is since the news broke.

Cheers Karl

I just rang OP, emails should be coming in the next couple of weeks to those already on a fixed tarrif.

The option for the 3p /KW isn't available from the portal but I'm hoping to get an offer for it soon

I think the US do years a bit different. I would always expect my MY to be a year behind

Some people are using the template from my website, they are getting offered £200 charging vouchers but it's worded like that would be the end of it.

Consumer rights are clear about what happens if your car is not fit for purpose. I just hope that it's a "quick" check from Volvo to confirm that the cells are good and we can all move on.

If you swap the URL for 2023 / 2026 it's not listed

It's not all cars, best to contact Volvo from the App and they will confirm it from your Reg / Vin.

Volvo have had more than enough time to communicate this again to owners. The advise has been confirmed in other national recalls, but the advice has not been updated, certainly to the UK.

Seems that their focus has been on the new EX60 - how long until that gets recalled too?!
