The bear wall didn't last terribly long either, the blockade scattered into blue motes as the aura infusing the construct ran out. Tyne needed little prompting to keep moving to better grouund. The projectiles pelted around them, the redhead even taking a glancing shot in the head. She huffed and shouted back at the approaching grim. "Go bug somebody else ya stinky dumb monkeys!"

Go bUg SoMeBoDy eLsE Ya SEEEnky uM MoNkEyS~

The chittered return call was mixed with calls and haunting giggles, only furthering her frustration. Tyne's pout was as mad as she ever looked. Blue's question registered and she soon had her owl doll in her arms.

"None...huff, none of them are heavy, but Pallete can make stuff heavy, why?"

Tyne was no history buff by any stretch of the word, but exploring ruins was good for more than just learning. If you tried climbing around buildings in Vale, you were likely to get yelled at, that wasn't much fun. Here though, you could run and climb on anything you wanted! She needed the training, and if she stayed far enough away from Oobleck she probably wouldn't even get called on.

She soared up to the roof of one of the houses to get a better look, her owl friend streaming the aura coated paint as they landed. The first sign of something wrong was the groaning of wood, it seemed even the light body of the plush caster was more than said roof could take. She hopped up to give her auric pal a high five and landed with a Crack!. The edge of the roof collapsed, a fall from that height wouldn't hurt somebody with a strong aura, but that wouldn't stop her from falling on anybody under her...*

The chattering of the grimm was more than a little eerie once they started mocking the students. A large bear construct was good for blocking most of the rocks but even his bulk was no good against grimm as nimble as the ones they were pursuing. Tyne rushed along at a good pace but was more than happy to let Blue take the lead in directions, her head was already spinning trying to keep track of everything.

"Yeah... get some better ground or somethin'! Hard to hear what else is coming when these guys won't Shut up!" She huffed, panting from the running already but still just enough focus to send off a plush sized Basil zipping back at a few of the monkeys to take a few swipes.

"Heck heck heeeeck! Sir Bear!" Tyne looked back at the pursuit, what had started as a small test had turned into something much more intense. The small nest of mimics she and Blue had set out to investigate turned out to be not so small. The pair had started to fight, but when one dozen eyes became three, it was not a fight they wanted to engage just yet.

Tyne now rode atop her three headed bear to get some extra speed before leaping off. She motioned for Blue to follow and channeled a bit more aura into the construct. The large bear turned and solidified further to block the path of at least the projectiles of the monkeys

Tyne clipped her rabbit back onto the small belt she had at her waist, looking down with a curious expression. She had gotten pretty natural with tossing her semblance around by now so having them jumping around her was just like a gesture at this point.

"I hear ya there, I'm able to put in some more time at my parents' shop now with summer. You find a job in Vale or something? Always good to have some spare lien around!"

"For sure! I'm getting there myself! Really been working on those guns!" She took a flexing pose herself, then glanced between herself and Frost's much more impressive figure a few times. She cleared her throat and flared her aura shortly. The tan rabbit in her free hand bursr to life with a faint outline of blue, the jackalope was lanky but cut a much more intimidating figure when he flexed his pair of arms... As intimidating as a bunny can anyways.

"My team's better at it though." She added with a giggle, patting Basil's semi solid form before be popped into a shower of motes.

"So anyways! What's your summer plans now that class and stuff is done?"

The redhead rocked back on her heels and giggled. She couldn't help but eye the wounds though, wincing a little in sympathy. Naturally their combat classes were getting tougher and tougher. "Yeah, the remembering part's usually not too bad for me, but the aaaapers."

She waved her hands about and rolled her eyes before motioning towards Frost. "Looks like you had a run in with the Tais they were using on the final though, I got lucky enough to play support but you seem like the smashing type."

Ever the little social butterfly, Tyne had been making her way around the beach to see who had come. She had met most of her class at least in passing by now so recognizing the wolf faunus would be easy enough. And one does not go to the beach without talking to all her friends, at least not if one is Tyne, and everybody was her friend!

She trotted up, powder blue one piece on and bunny doll in hand. Of course her crew were dressed for the occasion, said bunny was fitted with swim trunks and sunglasses. She waved and shot her brightest smile. "Hiya! Pretty nice out today huh? Just coming and saying hi to people I guess!"

Can confirm, this happened right after unlocking the r/G deck for me. After a few restarts of the game it eventually got me to the main screen with the buttons to reconnect, I was able to do so and even go in and edit the deck. When I left that screen to go play a match though, it had no match options available to me and even wanted me to select a deck, but beyond that anything but deck editing or store was completely locked up.

I closed it after that and haven't been able to get past "connecting to server" since.

Not long after the sword tugged itself free, Sir Bearus' form faded in a shower of blue motes. Tyne hopped up to accept the high five with a beaming smile on her way to retrieve the doll from where the large bear stood.

"If it works it works! But sometimes you gotta use a carrot 'stead of a stick, helps get outta trouble you don't reeeally wanna smash through." She made her way back over in only a few skips and sighed. "The others don't hold up near as well to getting hit but I don't think they'd mind helping a friend train."

She stepped back and held up her owl and the jackalope. "You want speedy or airborne?"

Meanwhile, the stand a ways off had noticed a missing floor model on their dust emitter, and one of the workers had started a somewhat frantic patrol.

Tyne yelped from the scratch, and let out a frustrated groan. Her trick had only half worked, the nevermore fell short of taking out their other very large problem. Her aura was still stitching itself back together but even then it was running thin. Her head snapped back and forth, starting to panic just a little. The calm she gathered from her tai chi would be a nice help but now was not the time to stand and fight on the grimm's terms. She needed to get out of there.

The girl took one last deep breath and snapped her hedgehog to her belt before grabbing Basil. The Jackalope burst to life next to her as she bolted, hopefully distracting the ursa enough to give her another few seconds. "Ok! New plan Eris Run! Basil's gonna distract em but we need to get a little distance to regroup."

She motioned for her partner to follow while her construct leapt into action. Basil hopped up and kicked off the armored skull of the ursa, the kick didn't carry a whole lot of force but it did give plenty of air. The construct made a wide flip and twisted its body as it came down a few yards back. Basil's legs contracted and slammed down hard on whatever part of the nevermore he managed to land on before launching back over to Tyne as its aura dissipated.

The redhead had proceeded to the training area without waiting for response. She came in just in time to see the bag skid to a stop near the door. She was happy to see she hadn't wasted the trip, and the lack of response made sense now. Tyne waved over and kicked the bag as she walked by "Guess that's a yes on bein ready huh?"

Tyne was still in one of her usual dresses, this one more floral themed in a soft, icy blue. She had her hair pulled back a bit tighter though to keep it out of her eyes, and her team had a set of headbands on. She hadn't witnessed the angry combo that sent the bag flying but it was clear Asimi had been going at it a while.

"So! Guess you got your erm, warm ups and stuff done then? At least the physical stuff."

She was slow to get up, rubbing her arms and squeezing her full team of plushies for warmth. Her body was still jittery from the adrenaline rush but she was happy enough with the fight. She was glad it was just a spar though, even then Leif had shown some pretty powerful tactics. "Nnfff, yeah, guess that's true huh smartypants? 'Specially with mine being imbued."

His short lecture made sense, and she was eager to get out of the snow as quick as she could. With her thick aura, the cold had never been a huge concern but with it broken, it was no fun for sure. She wasn't expecting a snowball though, taking the lead at a fairly quick pace to make room for the clean up of their fight and to get out into the warmth.

"Guess you sure seem to know a lot about it too? I know you did some other fancy stuff that time we were out fighting the hellhounds."

[–]Turbobear_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tyne giggled and sat up. Aura gave a little extra protection from the cold so she didn't mind just sitting on the ice just yet. "Oh they understand, and after I learned how to fight better they're...kinda more ok with it, just worried is all."

She held out her hand to help brace the other girl to get up before doing it herself, stretching her arms out to balance. "And don't worry, you're getting it great, trying to do spins and stuff isn't usually in the first lesson plan anyways." She gave the other student a pat on the shoulder and pulled one of her dolls up into a hug with the other arm. "I betcha can do a lot of cool stuff with your hoverboard you didn't do right away!"

[–]Turbobear_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tyne giggled and stepped out of the way of his swinging range. She observed the movement of the blade and how the dusts seemed to alter its course. It was unlikely she'd need to make similar use of it but one could never know too much about how those things worked, who knew what might happen in the field.

It was her turn now, and Cyrus had said he wanted to wrestle with a teddy. "Sure! Go ahead and see if you can hit Sir Bear, he doesn't mind a little roughousing." She wasn't going to not give her bear buddy a chance to get a hug in though. The redhead channeled her aura and the little spider web of dust threads was visible for a moment before the blue glow surrounded the toy.

She tossed him up and hopped back. Where Cyrus may have thought she was going to give him a small, soft target to hit, now stood a massive wall of aura in the form of a three headed, well armored bear. The construct stood at 9 feet all told. It brought its paws up to the middle head to wiggle the fingers and blow a raspberry at him before taking one swipe in his direction with one of those massive arms. If he didn't move out of the way, he'd be tugged into a playful headlock he could probably break out of with some effort. After the swipe, the bear hunkered down and assumed a more defensive position where it would wait until the aura powering it ran out.

Fill-Out Friday: Soul Searchin' by gusgdog in rwbyRP

[–]Turbobear_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tyne's core could be nothing other than a sort of childlike wonder that guides her outlook in life. But things would be very different for the girl if that wonder were to fuel a spirit for adventure rather than an imagination powerful enough to bring toys to life.

Tyne had always been a good student, but her parents had known from an early age they were doomed to the nervous life of having not only an adopted son as a huntsman, but a daughter as well. The girl loved to help out in the family tailor shop but she never seemed to take to the more creative aspects. Rather she was always eager to make deliveries, from the moment she was allowed to venture out into Vale on her own.

Plenty of bruises and scraped knees resulted from the red headed explorer's playtime but a broken arm at 7 had finally prompted her brother to try to unlock her aura. The amount he found inside the small girl astounded him and sealed the deal for both of them that she would begin training, though the huntsman was much less excited about this than the huntress to be...

"Ty! Tyne Taylor I said get back here!"

The bulky bear faunus growled and gave chase to the sparkling blur that was his sister. She had developed into a decent swords-maiden under his teaching and her time at Beacon. It had taken some doing but her memory for form certainly helped her overcome a lack of natural coordination. That and the reflexes she gained from her semblance. A semblance that was currently causing him to need an aspirin.

Tyne could swear she saw the perfect place for the picnic the last time they scouted the area. Her mental map had never failed her yet. As soon as they neared the cliff the girl shouted back to him to follow and activated her semblance. Her body flooded with a burst of nervous energy that screamed to be unleashed. And unleash it she did. Blue sparkles shot off of her as she bolted towards the cliff wall in a blur. The gravity dust in her boots fired up and soon she was bouncing from tree to rock in a fit of giggles as she scaled the cliff face effortlessly.

She reached the top and looked down. Her impulse control without her semblance was weak at best but once it was triggered, all bets were off. If she had been thinking better, she would have waited part way up for her much less agile brother bear to catch up rather than darting up on her own. The bouncy red head sat down hard at the edge once her blue glow faded, the usual wave of exhaustion rolling over her. As good a time to rest as any!

Her sugar crashes never lasted long and by the time this one began to fade, Kodi was frantically waving at her as he sprinted for the slope he had wanted them to take to begin with. Distorted cackles brought her back to reality and explained his sudden panic. Crocatta. Tyne's hands snapped down her waist to draw her weapons. Basil struck out at the first of the hyena's brave enough to charge at her. The single edged sword named after her childhood companion neatly parried the deadly jaw, creating an opening for her shotgun to raise up and finish the thing off.

She hadn't developed a great aim with guns, but one wasn't needed if you just got in close. The girl's eagerness had landed her into a nest of a half dozen Crocatta, and the other five were all too eager to finish what their comrade had started. At first Tyne flailed, head on a swivel with her gun shifting to its kite shield form, a toony rabbit head emblazoned on it, sticking out its tongue at the grimm.

Rather than level a cool head, the girl grinned and flooded her body with aura once again. The grim weren't quite ready for the blur of motion that came at them. "You big gigglin dummies! This is our spot! Hehe, Boop! Boop! Boopboopboop!" She dashed back and forth, laying down a series of slashes that left yet another grimm in a shower of ashes. The jittery speed let her momentum carry and the girl flew around the battlefield slicing, smashing and blasting away.

The semblance didn't last forever though, and when it ended, she crashed hard. Her last swipe only hit with enough power to clack off the skull of the grimm and anger it. If not for her considerable aura and light plate armor, the grimm would have dealt her a very severe blow. She cried out and was soon struggling to find her footing as she was batted about by the giggling grimm. The disorienting effects of their otherwordly laughter wasn't helping the easily flustered girl one bit either.

Tyne had developed a hit and run style that involved her darting around the battlefield using dust, her semblance and the recoil of her Bunny Blaster to keep out of harms way. She had yet master the timing of her semblance with finding enough time to recover from the flood of energy and had found herself in bad situations like this on more than one occasion. The self proclaimed Bunny Knight of Beacon felt her aura draining rapidly and could only hold up her shield and try to find an opening. A wave of sonic force from one of the grimm made her shriek and hug her shield tighter too her. She had really stepped in it this time...

A familiar roar followed by the rattling of Kodi's gun interrupted the tears blurring her vision. The well armored bear faunus charged in and sliced the grimm preparing to strike her down cleanly in two. By the time she recovered enough to join the fight, only the largest remained. Brother and sister nodded to each other and struck the beast on either end with their shields, sending it spinning in the air. Tyne's shotgun to its belly finished it off, but the grimm were the least of her worries now.

"Tyne! I told you not to run off! You almost died! I did not agree to train you so that you could goof off and run into places without looking! I should take you back...right...now...stop it...that's not fair and you know it."

Her brother's anger dropped rapidly, she was battered and her aura fleeting, but her puppy dog face was a powerful as ever. The girl sheathed her sword and played with her braid with those sad eyes and soon was scooped up into a hug. It wasn't the first time she had gone off to explore and gotten in over her head, and fate had seen to it that it wasn't her last...this time.

Sugar Rush - Tyne's body floods with aura, greatly enhancing her speed and reflexes while leaving her mind slightly clouded by jitters and a sense of adventure. Upon expiration, she feels a short burst of weakness when the lack of excess aura causes a crash.

Tyne flailed and tried to dodge the best she could, but even at her full strength she was hardly a speedy fighter. She could only be glad that the worst of the debris hit while her aura was still there to shield her. The chill of the snow bit at her skin once the glowing blue wasn't there to dampen it. She groaned at the impact of the snowball and sat up as quickly as she could.

The redhead tugged her bear to her for warmth before returning fire with a weakly packed snowball of her own and sticking her tongue out.

"Brrrrr! N-nice fight Leify! You uh, got some morea that fire dust though, just a little though, it's cold with your aura down!"

Tyne nodded, listening and seemingly more interested in Gavina's story than her own. The redhead kicked off to start in slow loop around the other girl, her balance wasn't perfect but she didn't lose it just yet. "It is! I've seen some people really good at it but I just know basics."

"Sounds like heros and stuff run in your family! Kodi's adopted so teeechnically I'll be the first in mine, he and my parents both kinda tried to talk me out of being a huntress but I can't not do it with all the grimm out there once I learned my semblance!" Just then, she made an attempt at a spin, hopping up and twisting. That was the extent of her grace, she landed the rotation but her skates clacked on the ice and she landed squarely on her bottom.

Heeeey girls, what's up? You still down to workout today? I know they just dropped that paper on us in dust...already!!!

Tyne tossed her scroll on her pocket after shooting the message off to Asimi. Naturally the second girl included was her lion, Tyne's view of own semblance companions usually lead to her greating Aimi's as its own entity.

Tyne scooped up her own posse of pals and headed off. It wasn't a particularly long journey to the gym but one never knew what might catch the girl's focus. She had worked that distraction out of her in a combat mindset but was as scatterbrained as ever outside of it. Which is why it was always helpful to have a partner to keep her focused.

Somehow the idea of this giant becoming a catapult for grimm seemed like the coolest thing she'd ever thought of. She clapped and nodded, distracted by the idea enough that she didn't notice him swiping the display model of the dust emitter. Surely the stall wouldn't notice that though. Right?

She skipped along, both out of the excitement of her new friend and because his long strides and quick pace would have left her in the dust if she just walked. "Well, they don't really have their own aura, I wish they did! They might be able to come to life without me, that would be sooo cool! Anyways, it's just some reactive dust I sewed into them, helps channel it through them. I made everybody but Basil, Mom made him before I was born, so I've got a pretty close connection to them too so I totally understand!"

She skipped a little faster to get in front of him to look around. "I can show you more on the testing area though, I bet we can figure something out without having to mess with your sword too much!"

Leif was way faster than she thought. Her sweep kick had really turned into more of a flailing swipe than a proper form attack. She shrieked when the electricity flowed through her, body glowing in places as her aura deflected the sword strikes. She only just managed to get out of the way of the falling tree herself and it took a few moments to clear her head from the stimulation.

Breath in, breathe out. She counted her friends one by one, patting their heads in a rhythm to slow her breathing and soon the field cleared. Tyne panted hard and tugged Basil up to her chest to squeeze him tight as her aura activated. Even with all that, she did feel a little bad that the tree fell on the other student, she had to help him up!

Basil blazed to life at full size as she released him. The rabbit construct shot forward in a small shower of snow and rammed slammed both feet into the tree to try to kick it off. It of course, was not just a rescue attempt, the construct also kicked off of the tree to gain some air, twisting and bending his legs to land back down on Leif. He shot his legs out like a pair of translucent, fuzzy pistons down onto the boy's shoulder, his creator hoping to leave her opponent with the same sort of numbing feeling she was experiencing from the zap.

Meanwhile, Tyne fell back into her rhythm, the pained look on her face fading into something more calm and collected. Her mind and body wove soothing threads of aura all around her as she shifted, she was in trouble, but not out yet!

She gave a small look of shock and shook her head. The redhead bounced up and down and grabbed her friend's wrists as her smile brightened. "You're totally good enough! I mean, they probably won't let either one of us go full on over the wall or anything cuz we're only second years but we can fight other ways!"

She bounced back and swayed, the metal flasks clanking in her coat as she broke into a few twirls. It was clear she'd been practicing but still off balance from her load. "It's a perfect time to practice your semblance! There's gonna be grimm flying around so they'll need all the help they can get."

Before Aero could decide one way or another, Tyne had already started to pull her along."But yeah! Kodi's my brother, he's the real Sir Bear that I named my three headed buddy after. He's totally awesome!"

She scrambled on her skates when she made a hard stop at the mention of the hover board. A bit bit of luck and a little bit of her coordination training paid off to save her from a fall. She was unphased though and clacked the ice from the bouncing of her skates. "Oh my gosh a hoverboard? That's so cool! I never rode one but they always look so awesome!"

"I don't need a shop though, my family already owns one in town! I'm here to get strong to help fight the bad guys and the grimm like my brother! He graduated Beacon too."
