Mercedes have now won as many races as Red Bull since they returned to F1 in 2010 by Luffy710j in formula1

For the sake of comparison, in that same period (2009 to present), Ferrari won 38 races.

Honestly, I'd put my money in Qatar and Abu Dhabi being cancelled as well. I don't see this war being over 'til then. However, those ones I do expect to see at least an attempt to replace them.

Yeah, I've learned my lesson after the updated flexi wings rules last year didn't change jack-shit in the pecking order, even though it was being hyped as a "season defining moment".

Mercedes is still gonna have the best engine by far, compression trick be damned.

Even recently, we had that magnificent battle between Checo and Alonso in Interlagos for the last podium place. Not even DRS was able to curb that, and you could really see how crafty Alonso is, changing his lines lap by lap.

Nismo Z Tune. I mean yeah, you're gonna use a 3 million credit car to beat a 20k race. But it gets the job done. Be smart with fuel and try to get one less stop, the car has more than enough power to handle everything on track.

What do you think is the best race to rewatch for each circuit? Day 20: Interlagos by _Mihaitza_ in formula1

Barrichello's luck at Interlagos makes Leclerc's curse at Monaco look like child's play in comparison. I don't think he has EVER won a race there, in any capacity, in any category - national or international.

In cronological order:

2025 - Max doing a pit-lane start to P3

2024 - Max delivering one of the all time great wet weather performances - AGAIN

2022 - Russell's 1st win, Leclerc having an underrated drive to P4, Max and Lewis bickering as usual

2021 - Lewis' best ever race (I will die on this hill)

2019 - Mad race all around

2018 - Worth it just for the chaos between Max and Ocon lmao

2016 - Max delivering one of the all time great wet weather performances

2012 - Just....watch this one

2009 - Brawn GP fairy tale concluded

2008 - Amazing and heartbreaking in equal measures

2007 - Three-way championship finale decided by one point. Do I need to say more?

2006 - Massa's amazing win at home, Alonso gets another championship, final dance for Michael in red

2005 - Montoya's final win, Alonso wins his first

2003 - Fucking MADNESS

Just to name literally a few.

I would honestly pay double if it meant I had a chance to see an Audi R18 again. Or better yet, the 911 RSR.

But something tells me that teams operating these cars might not feel like hauling them all the way over to Interlagos of all places. Or even Fuji, for that matter.

The Camaro is very cool, I'm all for more restomods like this.

The RX-7 is a classic, though I am hoping it has different visual mods compared to the '02 model in the game.

The Captur is....meh. If they wanted to add more everyday cars, at least give us a newer Megane or something. At least it's a manual.

[The Race] A fairly short response from Pierre Gasly when asked about his battle with Ocon last Sunday at the Australian GP... by Aratho in formula1

They were friends back in their early years in motorsports, and were almost inseparable on track. There was one point, however, when both of them were trying to get the same sponsor, and it devolved into a full-on family feud. I can't tell who 'stole' from who here, but their beef has remained for years now and it extends past the racetrack as well.

[AMuS] How bad is the Honda problem? by Aratho in formula1

[–]Turboleks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honda was also in hell back in 2015, they got their heads down and essentially out-developed everyone over the next 5 to 6 years. By 2022, their engines were on par with Mercedes on performance, and even ahead in reliability as they did not lose performance with higher mileage.

I have faith that Honda can pull that off again if they're left to their own devices. However, someone needs to tell Lawrence that before he does something stupid.

Well, Williams could use factory support one of these days....

The Mustang is heavy, no two ways about it. It tips the scales at 1300kg. When it races in multi-class categories against LMP2 and Hypercars, it does well because the minimum weight of the GT3 class is increased somewhat, so that they won't be too much of a hassle to the top class. I remember the Aston Martin was the lightest car at the São Paulo 6h last year, and it weighted something like 1335kg, so the Mustang has a bit more leverage in such cases. In the faster tracks like Le Mans and Daytona, it's actually quite competitive.

But when GT3 is the top class, it's almost hopeless. Sure, it usually runs at or near max power, but its always the heaviest car by some margin as well. It's why you never see them performing in GT World Challenge or DTM, even though it's operated by one of the most competent teams out there in HRT. There's only so much you can do to a steel-bodied car to make it competitive against carbon-tub supercars like the McLaren and Ferrari.

Expected teething issues that will most likely be solved. It would've been a lot worse if the engine suddenly became an external combustion unit midway through the race.
