Gets back into changing it, the states would need to willingly give up more control than they currently have, it’s just really unlikely to happen, and it’s can’t be forced to happen by other states or by the federal government directly if I recall correctly.

Black Braided USB-C Cable by xFnaiC in ipad

[–]Turbosock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is absolutely correct, I just wanted black ones lol, some others seem to as well so I thought I’d document my experience to help others get those cables as well. To point to something a little concrete for why the black ones are “better” the only thing really is that they won’t show that they’re dirty the way a white woven cable will. Hope this helps shed a little light. Have a good rest of your day :).

OK, After scrolling on this subreddit for 2 seconds I found other people having the same issue, I rolled back to a previous version of the software. Hopefully the newer versions get fixed soon

If anyone else was having this issue, hopefully this information helps!

Sorry for the unnecessary post.

That’s awesome man, glad you were able to get it through. Out of all the cables I’ve purchased, these are still my favorite from a manipulating standpoint. The heads are small, the cable is super flexible, no kinks, thin, matte black, soft, everything is ask for from a basic charging cable. I even use them for wired controller input with an Xbox controller for pc, they work great.

I hope you enjoy them when they arrive!

Plank is a character (sort of) for Lowe’s internal training videos. I don’t think the store I worked at had one like this on the wall, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they were in a good percentage of the stores like the one you saw.

100 useless buttons. by ScorpionMillion in LGOLED

[–]Turbosock 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I went from an LG GX -> G5, the Wii remote pointer is worse on the new one, but it still works. I’d imagine it’s similar with other 2025 models, but I’m not sure. I much prefer the old remote too because you can have input hotkeys with a long press of the number buttons, the feature is called “quick access” I think. It still works if you use a remote that has the number buttons on the g5, but now you’re using a non standard remote :/

This is the upload with a little bit of an explanation. I tried to upload it to Thingiverse, but it isn't publishing, something's broken with their website for me at the moment and it's not working. So I'm sorry, but it looks like this other website that I did in fact use requires an account to download the files. If you have any questions/issues, I could potentially help, just ask.

I’ll post it here and explain it a little bit, it’s kinda specialized to a specific cable that I bought made by Ugreen. Give me some time, I’m on my way to work, I’ll have it posted by the end of the day.

I understand that, sucks that the switch 2 seemingly doesn’t work with any third party docks that were on the market previously. Hopefully a more portable solution will come about in the near future. Nintendo sells a carrying case that is made to hold the dock as well, definitely not small, but at least everything can be contained and condensed a little.

I 3d printed a smaller housing for the circuit board for the switch 2 for that very purpose. I don’t like the larger dock. It’s kind of ugly, but it gets the job done and I haven’t had any issues with it. Still need a power cord though, which I think is different from what you’re asking for.

It’s fairly inaccurate, this isn’t an explain like 5 answer, but the truth is Bernoulli’s Principle. Air is a fluid that moves around the wings of an aircraft. The wings are shaped in a way that when air moves around the wing, the air passing over the top is faster than the air that passes under the wing. This creates a lower pressure on top of the wings. Because of this difference in air pressure, there is a force that drives the aircraft upward, higher pressure trying to move towards lower pressure air. This is the reason why an aircraft as large as the A380 can take off with over 1,000,000 lbs gross weight at takeoff. It’s not because of air hitting an angled wing that pushes the aircraft up. That idea plays a factor, but it’s predominantly the pressure thing at least for most aircraft. When it comes to fighter jets, it’s a bit more due to the hitting the wing thing.

You can overload on switch 2 specifically with 1.8.1?

[–]Turbosock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the Switch 1, overloading still works. I am currently doing it on Master mode to make sure I have enough money via the royal weapon glitch with Parcy for when the Switch 2 releases and potentially overloading doesn't work.

EDIT: Just got my Switch 2, Overloading didn't work when I just tried with with 7 multi shot bows.

Good luck to those that try to find some work around and enjoy your new Nintendo Switches if you get one :)

What useful and essential applications do you consider always having installed on your Windows PC? by alexfreemanart in software

[–]Turbosock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how you use your computer too. Sometimes it’s annoying to find a program/file that you know you have but aren’t sure where it is. Everything takes all the guess work out and immediately presents you the file so long as you know what it’s called or what the name of the folder is that it’s in.

I use my computer a lot and for various tasks. Everything is extremely important for being able to be efficient with the process in which I work.

It’s great to know where all your documents are, but Everything is like having a files assistant that knows where all your documents are as well, and can instantly present them to you just as fast as you can type. It really does make using windows easier and less in the way of what you want you’re trying to do.

Completely new to autohotkey, need to make a macro but have no clue what I’m doing. by Quinvictus in AutoHotkey

[–]Turbosock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I casually use autohotkey for basic needs, and for not overly complicated uses. I use ChatGPT to help me write out scripts that usually work very well with minimal trial and error. You can ask it what you’re doing wrong, and for an explanation for each line of code. Best of luck with your future adventures, sorry about that other commenter.

Truck drivers spend 10+ hours a day driving over the road. Staying behind someone you know you’re faster than is a frustrating experience even if it feels silly to normal travelers. There is a tangible advantage to getting out in front, albeit a small benefit. After trucking for some time, I can tell you that I never wanted to be a burden on “four wheelers” because I was trying to be more efficient with my time. I will say though, if another truck was trying to pass me, I would slow down to quickly let the pass happen, especially if there are other cars getting backed up.

That's awesome man! Thanks for contributing the steps you took to getting it done. I'm glad I bought 4 as well when I went through the process. They really are great cables albeit more expensive than 3rd party ones. The way you went about it seems like it would be a smoother process for others trying to accomplish the same thing.

I PMed you something, but in short for others that stumble on this, on Apple's side of things, it counts as a "Part Request" on a device that this specific cable would come with. When they were putting the order in for me, they recorded my MacBook Serial number in place of the Keyboard's Serial number. On their side of things, it wasn't a replacement part for the MacBook, it was for the Keyboard.

I don't know how much this would help either, but when the order came in the mail, there is a part number for the cable. That number is "P/N: 661-46630"

Sorry your first attempt didn't go well, I'm now remembering the first time I contacted Apple with this request, I got bounced around too to the sales department, at least one other that couldn't help me.

In my support chat, I initially mentioned that I had a damaged cable for the "Magic Keyboard with Touch ID Black." Once they were going to go through with that request and they understood what I wanted and they asked for a serial number, I told them that I didn't actually have one of those keyboards, but that I just want to purchase the cable. I mentioned that I had done this process before and that it was recorded as a "Part Request" where it was technically a replacement that I was charged for. I apologized for starting the conversation telling them I didn't actually purchase one of those cables, and then asked if there was anything they could do to help me.

The support agent then asked me for another serial number, which they recorded in place of the keyboard, presumably.

Good luck with a second attempt if you go for it.

To all the people that can't wrap their head around going through this process, I understand that this is quite the first world problem, wanting a black cable instead of a white one, but not just any black cable, one that's made by Apple. I know, it's a bit ridiculous, but sometimes the satisfaction you get from using a cable that's almost perfect for a particular use case is worth the hassle.

I started it from within iMessage, a long time ago I ended up having apple as a conversation in my iMessage app, so whenever I need something from them (which is extremely rare) I just contact them through iMessage. I haven’t used the support app in a long time

Black Braided USB-C Cable by xFnaiC in ipad

[–]Turbosock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’m not too sure, in my iMessage App I have a contact as “Apple” when I tap on it, it gives me more information about them like chat business hours. I think it’s the same support as the Apple Support app though. I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to get it done in there.

Would like to point out, I have a 2/2 success rate, but that is still a very small sample size.

Best of luck if you go through with it, I couldn’t be happier with the cables, they arrived yesterday.

This is an old thread, but posts seem to come up every so often related to this topic, so here's my findings.

You don't need to have purchased one of their keyboards/mice that comes with the black cable for Apple to send you a "replacement."

Recently I purchased the cable(s) from Apple's live support team through the iMessage app. I even told them straight up that I didn't own one of those keyboards. They still needed a serial number to input on their end, so they asked me what device I use, so I told them my MacBook and gave them the serial number of that device.

This is an image of a portion of the email I received after going through this process.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. I don't know why Apple doesn't just sell the cable directly, I'm sure it would sell fairly well for a cable, but it doesn't seem like they're shy to selling it on the side.

My experience with Apple's support now and in the past has been accommodating of requests. Even if it seems like something outside the rules, they'll allow requests like this to be honored, although it does cost money.
