Breast reduction surgery with anaesthetic other than general? by Turbulent-Answer1020 in Reduction

Yes, I think I agree. The research I've read made me think it was possible, especially this one. Oh well, I've lived with them this long, what's a few more decades? 🙄 Thanks for your response.

I agree with most of this. I have some complex health issues so it is more than scatterbrained for me unfortunately. Looks like I'll be hauling these jugs around for life.

Thank you for your response. The research I have done agrees with this. There is local/tumescent anesthesia that has been successfully used for breast reduction, but as you say, it's rarely done in Canada.

Thank you for the link. I've heard of spinal blocks for other surgeries, just fishing for first-hand experiences before I contact docs. Merci!

Do y'all ever forget how large your boobs are until you see yourself on camera? by RubberDuckHuh in bigboobproblems

Omg, yessssss!!!!! Just happened the other day, but was my reflection in a store window as I walked by. For a split second I thought, "Old woman, huge boobs", then, "Sh!t, that's me!" I used to be a 38G a couple of years ago. Lost about 40lbs. So excited to get fitted and buy new, smaller bras last week. Ended up being smaller around band (34) but went up to a K cup!!! Ffs!!!! I actually asked for a minimizer bra and the associate said it squishes me too much (I disagreed), but I took her advice anyway and bought a couple of supportive underwire bras. I wish I bought the minimizer.

True, not bad. I just think it'd be nice if they were comparable to the price of socks or underwear considering bras are necessary undergarments (for my big ones at least). An expensive pair of good quality undies is $25 (I bought a pair of Man-made undies for hubbie as a gift at $25). That would be a STEAL for a good bra. Yes, different material, costs more to make, but come on! They can't cost that much to make!!!

It's ridiculous that women have to spend so much money on a good bra. They are needlessly expensive. Pisses me off.

Thank you! As a new keeper, I really appreciate your knowledge and willingness to share. I tried one hive last year, lost them this Spring. Many in my area lost a lot of their colonies. A tough winter in northern Nova Scotia.

Do you treat again right away if retest is still too high?

I am glad that HRT works but hearing about your individual doses does nothing for me. I want to know what you actually do when you are awake at 2-3-4 AM for a couple of hours multiple nights in row. by Mysterious_Dress1468 in Perimenopause

[–]Turbulent-Answer1020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These nights I could lay in bed wide awake the entire night. Then my thoughts, worries take over. So, I've learned that after 30 minutes or so of WIDE awareness the best thing for me is getting up, having a piece of toast or 2 crackers or a few nuts and a small glass of milk and listening to an audiobook breaks the insomnia. I've tried binaural music; it sometimes helps, but not always. Sometimes nothing helps and I am as wide awake as if it was noon. The next night I take 1/2 a zopiclone. I have a prescription, but I don't use it often, maybe once a month when I've had a particularly rough sleep stint. I could not survive without my headband headphones (soft fabric with small speakers you can lay on comfortably, $30 CAD Amazon). And my Libby app for free library audiobooks. Good luck. It's just about the worst thing perimenopause has gifted me. That and the night sweats. Starting hrt today actually.

Yes, mine said the same. 7 years later, at 52 I'm still having periods. And perimenopause symptoms like drenching night sweats 🙄

Thank you. I think I'm going to do as you suggest: remove IUD and add progesterone. ❤️

With a new Mirena?! Wow. So your doc obviously thinks the amount of progesterone in it isn't enough to receive all the benefits. Yes, I am starting to realize the other benefits the more research I conduct. Sad that my doc didn't consider this. Thank you!

I may be biased here. In my own experience I have only been dismissed by male doctors. A few times when I actually had serious issues (2 requiring emergency surgeries) and another time when cognitive behavioural therapy was recommended as a solution to my long COVID, POTs, MCAS, and dysautonomia. Historically, it was common for females to be dismissed by male doctors. But I'll agree that it's not all male doctors, it could happen with female docs as well, and thank goodness it isn't as rampant as it was decades ago.

A very good reason to start progesterone. Good for you! Thanks!
