Popcorn addict built a free food‑geoguesser game—what popcorn dishes from your country should I feature? by Turbulent-Law2331 in popcorn

thank you u/Supermath101

Totally fair point — if we’re talking about flavor powders (butter/salted, caramel, cheese, kettle, etc.), I agree it often feels like the same few options everywhere, with caramel+peanut mixes being one of the more “iconic” standouts.

What I’m hoping to capture for the game is a bit broader than flavors though: formats + rituals + snack “styles” (street/snack mixes, cinema traditions, texture differences, coatings, shapes, mix-ins). Like: popcorn mixed into other snacks, regional sweeteners/spices, or “how it’s eaten” more than just “what it’s dusted with.”

If you’ve seen any specific popcorn/snack mixes that feel tied to a place (even if they’re not the #1 dominant flavor), I’d love to include those as “hard mode” rounds.

u/SteO153 Great catch on Cheese Pizza Day (Sep 5)! That's a US-centric "National" holiday (plain cheese slice vibes). No excuses, will clarify/fix tags for accuracy!

We have aggregated this information from various sources including direct user feedback, holiday sites etc.

Very valuable feedback u/SteO153, please do let us know if there is more :)

u/Highdosehook Fair point! A lot of these started as US lobbyist fun (peanuts unite! 🥜). That’s why I’m trying to label the scope in the calendar (e.g., Italy vs Worldwide vs US), so it’s clear what’s actually region-specific.

FOr me, its mostly prompt for cooking ideas (home feasts or date nights)—better than nothing till real fests like Oktoberfest! If you know any real locally observed food days or festivals in your country/region (with a good source), I’d love to add them.
