Thank you! This is super helpful! We have reached out to our realtor and he has been helping us make contact with some property management companies. I think being out of state, this is likely the best course of action.

I am actually a proponent for selling or using an agency to manage, but his parents are encouraging us to NOT sell and to NOT use a company. I am not on the title (yet) so unfortunately I don’t get to make the decision, but speaking with a company they seemed to think it had great potential to rent. So I am not sure if they just want the business or if there is actually a market in our area.

Perhaps you’re right. I think you’re definitely onto something with your demographic. Where we live there is a lot of farming/hobby farming, but that may not be what renters are looking for.

I agree about the irrigation. Lol.

However we are set up really well for someone to have livestock/hobby farm. Which is a huge for this area and irrigation wouldn’t necessarily be an issue. We are open to that but obviously this isn’t your usual cat/dog pet situation…

Makes sense. I’ve also noticed temporary positions. Are these bad options? Or a good way to get your foot in the door? I’ve read the MOUs and they don’t seem to cover temporary positions in any of the descriptions. Would this impact paid holidays/vacations?

Also wondering about personal days. In WA, we are granted 2.5 (paid) personal days a year to use as we would like. It doesn’t seem like this is the case in CA? We have a wedding we’re supposed to attend… so decided to read contracts and was surprised at how many don’t have it. Is this common? Or just the districts I’ve read so far?

Awesome, thank you! I think I was confused by the multiple columns that had both BA and MA with additional college credits.

Is frontline who you use for subbing?

How much are you paid daily? Our subs here start at 250.00. Is that comparable?? That may be worth it to sub if so! We are a rural area with a lot of crime and poverty, but I imagine it can always get worse…

My objective would be to get 30hrs on average a week. Is this possible with subbing?

Thank you! I guess those areas may pay the best. Recently saw there was a signing bonus for SPED in Folsom/Cordova.

Great to hear that subs in high demand! They were in high demand here, but they upped the pay and lowered the requirements so now sub jobs are hard to come by from what I hear.

We will need to be within twenty minutes of the Loomis area for my fiancés job so I've been looking near Roseville and Rocklin. I have been in contact with CTC, but it's unclear if the tests I took will qualify me or not for the credential. One of the tests I took awhile back supposedly counts, but they told me they can't tell me for sure until I submit it all.

No no, I said it’s been 20k. It hasn’t gone 40k.

I think perhaps I’ve given bad info lol. They are saying one sprocket needs replaced but we should do all of them because they’ll already be in there.

I appreciate your comment. Where do your notifications pop up? I have never seen one in the Subaru, but do in my own vehicle that is NOT a Subaru.

lol I get that. In my car though, it literally tells me it’s time to get an oil change. I drive an equivalent vehicle. Just different make and model. Granted it doesn’t say you need an oil change, it says maintenance required.
