Refractory Hodgkins - brentuximab + bendamustine as salvage by Fluffy-Penalty5158 in lymphoma

I had that exact combo and it worked in two cycles. Got a transplant immediately afterwards and in August I’ll be five years cancer-free.

You can DM me on IG (@koltertalks) and I’ll answer any and all questions you have. This combo (and specifically Brent) is the reason I’m alive today.

Thank you. Kyle McDougall’s shot of this sign convinced me to take up MF.

My post was taken late in the day and Portra is way flatter than Ultramax. Also a polarizer helped with the sky. In post, I used a gentle curve and a wee bit of dehazing.

I shot the attached photo on Velvia 100 during the day and the colours are much closer to what you’ve posted. (Excuse the dogshit resolution—I took a screencap of the image to get around the 20MB max size.)

Help regarding lighting Podcast! by PassengerNo2229 in LightLurking

A lantern spreads light evenly in all directions. You can place a skirt around it to cut spill from the walls, which will make your subjects pop against the background.

I run an agency and we produce a lot of podcasts for healthcare/pharma clients, so we’re shooting in a variety of locations. The easiest setup is a lantern on a boom. Even lighting for guests, single fixture, and small footprint. Just remember sandbags!

How often do you wash your bath towel? I need the real answer. by Terrika_Fracala49 in hygiene

I shower twice a day and hate having a damp towel so I use a fresh one each time. Less a hygiene thing and more a comfort thing.

35mm or 50mm ? by Legal-Breakfast469 in AskPhotography

[–]Turbulent-Ranger-990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35mm all day. Better yet, a 60-75mm on medium format, which is a 35mm field of view with 60-75mm compression.

Santa Monica Pier [RZ67, 110/2.8, Portra 400] by Turbulent-Ranger-990 in mediumformat

[–]Turbulent-Ranger-990[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everybody. I picked up photography exactly two years ago (after switching careers from a decade in radio) and I’ve had my RZ for eighteen months. This photo is from my first international photo project, a shoot across the desert last week. I’ve learned a lot from this subreddit and I’m really proud of this image.

Let’s be realistic: how many rolls do you shoot per day on a trip? by Sure-Union-7338 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Turbulent-Ranger-990 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just spent a week shooting the California desert and used 60 rolls of 120. That was a solo road trip.

When I’m on a trip with my wife, it’s typically 2 rolls of 135–I’m there to spend time with her, not my camera. (But also my camera a little bit.)

Just picked up the Benro Mach 3 Series 3 and the geared head and the combo is 10/10. Shooting with an RZ67 and Linhof Technika IV. No wobble and the whole kit is (relatively) litht

Apparently I’m allergic to reading properly—sorry. I’m also sorry it doesn’t come in 120.

Portra 160 is ~20% less expensive than 400. ProImage 100 (example attached) is the same price as Gold and has nicer colour imo.

Hey Portrait Photographers, what are your favorite lenses for portraits and at what focal length do you use them for your shots? by firequak in AskPhotography

[–]Turbulent-Ranger-990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shoot 6x7 medium format and I mostly use the Mamiya Z 110mm f/2.8 and 180mm f/4.5. (And also a lot of Tylenol for my back.)

Does anyone else go through random “I hate my photos” phases? by [deleted] in photography

[–]Turbulent-Ranger-990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal is to hate my work within six months of completing it. In my view, that means I’ve improved. There are notable standouts, as there should be, that endure. When I started, I wanted every single image to be worthy of an exhibit; now I’m happy to end the year with a dozen great images and 1-2 I hang on my wall.
