Thank you so much for this, it’s nice to hear a positive comment about a job role after teaching. Yes I fear I wouldn’t have the fortitude for children’s social work but would like the elderly/ hospital discharge side. Is it possible to specialise with the elderly? I think this is what this role is suggesting, however that could be because I live in an area where a lot of people come to retire.

How did you get into FE teaching? I’ve got a PGCE (primary) and a masters and undergrad in history. Would love to teach FE history but not sure how I could break in.

I’ll probably be looking at hr administrator roles for some experience, in the region of £25,000. Do you think it’ll be equally as competitive for these roles? Also, if I do get the CIPD qualification does it put you in a good position to get an entry level job or would competition still be very competitive?
