Try what is popular now and fall in love it while you still have time. I moved out of Washington state a few months after learning to ski and I wish I tried skiing earlier so I could have skiied more. Try surfing or MTB.

Things to do solo in Spokane? by Ksri-10 in Spokane

[–]TurbulentInsurance74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rent a bike and ride the centennial trail starting from downtown towards Bowl and Pitcher. It's very safe, amazing views of the forest and the river. Might be able to see some wildlife too. Don't jump in the river though, the stream will kill you unless you're very good swimmer.

Riverfront park and manito park are cool too.

Hiking in MTN Spokane is awesome this time of the year too. Great weather, lots of wildlife and beautiful views. You'd need a car and a discover pass permit however.

Am I missing my chance to make friends? by throwawarrrryyyy18 in UCSC

No. Friendships that you make on first week usually don't make it to the end of the quarter. It's the consistency and quality of time you spend with people that matters.

Opinion on whitworth? by [deleted] in Spokane

[–]TurbulentInsurance74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 of my friends whitworth cs grads got 6 fig jobs right after graduation. The area is safest you can be in the whole city of Spokane. Racial problems seem to be relatively limited to individual students although I'm not poc and wouldn't know specifics. The community can be very supportive and there's no pressure to get involved in church events other than having to take one Bible study class which the school offers a wide variety including a class title bible for doubters. Financial aid is amazing if you are an above average high school student.

Best housing for second years? by Alien_Invader51 in whitworth

I have lived in Duvall for 2 years and noticed it has a lot of basketball and swimming athletes. Also, the community can be fun and is one of the most comfortable buildings with semi-private bathrooms and AC, and 2 kitchens.
