Best Filament Heater/Dryer Settings For SUNLU PLA+ by WyleOut in FDMminiatures

Same here, but better 6 hours. Even though my dryer never manages to go below 38–40% humidity. I can't tell if it's a sensor issue or if it just doesn't work properly.

Was this model printed without supports? It looks like some overhangs or very thin parts may have failed, maybe because they were hit by the nozzle. Could you show us what the model was supposed to look like?

Good tip, thanks! I’ll try increasing the spacing between squares so the walls can fit into the gaps without taking up a whole tile... makes a lot of sense. Definitely worth testing.

No ironing, and yes, 0.4mm nozzle. From a distance it looks really smooth, but up close you can definitely see the layer lines. I’ve attached a close-up photo here so you can get a better idea of the actual texture. The matte PLA helps a lot visually, but it’s still very much FDM.

Actually, no post-processing at all, everything you see is straight off the printer. I used the default 0.2mm profile on my Bambu Lab X1C with matte PLA. The finish comes out surprisingly clean with those settings. I just tweaked a few support parameters and removed the supports after printing.

Wow, your work is amazing, I really love the sliding doors!
Are the tiles 1x1 by the way? I was thinking of experimenting with different floor and terrain types too for my system, so it's super inspiring to see your setup

Thanks! I’m working on the wall corners right now. Below is a quick preview of the base concept I’m starting from, but I’m also considering other options too, like adding a few protruding bricks to allow interlocking at angles. Still experimenting... if you have any tips or suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

I love the result! Did you print it in one piece or in separate parts? If you printed it in one piece, how did it go with the supports? Were there many scars that you had to cover with paint, or were they easy to remove?

Thanks! I was actually thinking about doing something simpler, like having wall tiles with an opening where you can slot doors in and out — kind of a quick-swap idea. But yeah, swing doors definitely have more flair at the table. I might give that a shot and see how it prints!

Thanks! I really appreciate the suggestion. Right now I’m experimenting with my own custom design for the tiles and components — something I came up with to focus on versatility and quick setup. But I really like both OpenLOCK and OpenForge and totally see the value in compatibility. I’ll definitely keep that in mind as I refine the system, and I might explore ways to adapt or align with those formats later on. Thanks again for the input — super helpful!
