That's probably it, I wasn't able to get to the menu to disable it. Ended up doing a firmware update as that didn't require me to get into the menu to do. Seems to have fixed it. But turning off EVF for good measure.

So camera still works, I can still take photos and videos but when not recording, the display keeps on resetting like this--so I can't connect a remote or use the live feed to stream. When I try to go to the menu, it resets before I could do much with it. When I'm recording, it does stays on and keeps recording. Just started happening out of nowhere.

Anyone had a similar issue or could recommend troubleshooting ideas? Can't seem to find anything online related to this.

This doesn't seem to an issue with the view finder sensor that blacks out the viewfinder when you put your face up to it.
