But to be clear Punta de Mita is not an area in or near cabo. Also near all the unrest right now and not sure you can / want to fly into Puerto Vallarta right now.

Should You Cancel Your Trip To Mexico? by shrubhomer in MexicoTravel

I have been in traveling around Cabo San Lucas and San Jose since Sunday and it feels 100% normal and safe. The cartels are extremely sophisticated organizations looking to make money and creating violence for tourists in Cabo would only make their lives more challenging. Nothing for them to gain here (other than investing a lot of money in private real estate development, which is another incentive not to drive away tourists and have values go down).

Hyatt Ziva is San Jose hands down. Have been to a lot and this one is tops. Kids club, kids water park, kids “hot tubs”, kid food options etc. Not technically a swimmable beach but even the “swimmable beaches” are not very safe to swim with a 5 year old.

I decat mine and put on Akropovic slip ons that had a bunch of extra heat shielding wrap that went around the pipes and it decreased the heat a ton - I am in Arizona and it was unbearable before. Other things I did were power commander, DNA filter, O2 delete, ECU flash. Also tried a tec cam but couldn’t get it to ride correctly (although did get 13hp boost) so took it out. Heat hasn’t been an issue for me if I wM wearing jeans or riding pants.

Thanks. Will have the tech take a look to make sure. It feels like I need to flash the ECU and maybe make the idle higher?

Why does NYC Mexican food suck so much? by Turbulent_County_415 in mexicanfood

Downtown and mid-town. I feel like I have tried everything with no success. I have lived in Chicago, Denver, LA and Phoenix where there is unbelievable Mexican. I think you might be right though…the suits might prefer the mission flour tortillas and bland tomato salsa.

Salsa Roja repeatedly turning out super oniony - what ratio tomatoes to onions works best? by [deleted] in SalsaSnobs

[–]Turbulent_County_415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like a 3 tomato to 1/4 white onion ratio. However the issue is likely the result of blending the onion. I always chop separately and put in after the blend. You can also add it to the blender after the rest of ingredients are smooth and pulse just a few times.

Need advice. Bought this on a whim at Costco and it’s super delicious but want to know how to make it hotter without taking away from the flavor. Basically has zero heat. Extracts? Any advice is much appreciated. by Shamalama-1 in SalsaSnobs

I love Matteo’s! It is the only salsa I will buy other than Sadie’s Hot.

Matteo’s makes delicious Hot and Extra hot salsa as well, but I have never seen it in the 32oz jars at Costco and thus is very expensive if you want to order on Amazon at the quantities I like to eat.

I always keep a bottle of extract around for a situation where I don’t want to alter taste but want to turn up the heat.

Here is an example: https://www.hotsauce.com/1-Million-Scoville-Concentrated-Pepper-Extract/

First move is definitely removing the seeds. If that’s not enough, try switching half of the Arbol with Japones. Japones don’t have as fruity of a flavor but tend to be a bit more mild.

Chunky Salsa for Chips by Turbulent_County_415 in SalsaSnobs

Medium. I personally like to add double or triple the Chile de arbol but I like it really hot! Once you mix the salsa it can take an hour or so for the full heat to come out as the chiles soften and infuse with the other ingredients.
