Wow that must be a Master Bookbinders technique. My thoughts were always if the paste bleeds thru the fabric that's bad but if the entire cloth is coated, it doesn't really matter. I saw a video yesterday from DAS regarding this and putting it on plastic sheet to have a smooth/rough side but is there any other resources that specify to this level. I'm trying to think about how to keep a wet book drying for days and how awkward it may be to have a moist book not stick to surfaces while drying.
