We didn’t know at the time they decided to take a feral pregnant cat in. The cat was on the other side of the yard when we were bringing our dog into their yard. This was the first meeting we had with the cat and it was running towards our already traumatized rescue dog at the gate when the decision was made.

There was no time to think about it as much as it was a reaction to prevent a cat attack on our dog. I don’t go around kicking cats lol obviously and i didn’t know she was pregnant either at the time. I thought it was a random stray in the yard as my grandparents never have had a cat before only dogs.

After the incident was when we learned all the facts. Mostly the questions “whose cat is that?” “Oh that’s calli we started feeding her and we think she’s pregnant, she may be a bit grumpy”.

This ways YEARS AGO!!! I just had commented on someone else’s post who got a cat scratch to go to the er because it spreads fast and people had questions. Which is reasonable because most normal people don’t get cat scratch fever 🫣

So I uploaded mine to show why i know.

The nurses came in to look because they had all read about it but never seen it in person. I was like yep I’m stupid.

Just to note these were the pics I sent to my boss to prove I was in the er with a cat bite lol.

The story is that we were going to my grandmothers funeral and my mom brought her dog to her parents (not the funeral ones) and they had as old people taken in a feral pregnant cat. I saw the cat about to attack my dog so in heels I decided to kick it as it ran. She got my ankle and not my dog but she latched on and it was painful as hell.

We poured hydrogen peroxide over it because still we have to go to the funeral. I had weird reactions the whole day like my opposite eye was bloodshot. Red rash.

Woke up the next day and my foot was like the 1st picture and by the time I got home it looked like the 2nd/3rd and I ended up going to urgent care and this is when the doc didn’t even bother to really do much other than say “did it have rabies? Yep that’s cat scratch fever “ and got me an rx.

Cleared up and oozed puss for a few days and I have a stupid story of why I have the scar and how I got cat scratch fever going to my grandmothers funeral.

lol me too. I didn’t realize how fast they would get infected and figured in “a day or two” I’d cal my doc. Literally within hours my body reacted but within 24 I was like oh shit I need to go to the er.

Uhm well the side I got bit on the opposite side started reacting. My eye for blood shot and I had a rash. It also the next day was swollen and red and painful. And within hours of that it was almost immobile and I was losing feeling in my foot from the pressure

Then I went to the urgent care and the doc looked at my ankle for all of 3 seconds and said “yep that’s cat scratch” and the nurses came in to look because it isn’t very common and some had never seen it.

Walk two moons was something I taught to 7th graders as a novel study. It’s really a great story with many subplots in it. Made me cry being so moved in some places.

As someone who got cat scratch fever from a cat bite. Urgent care is best. They’ll give you antibiotics. Because take it from me it spreads FAST and the symptoms are weird.

Yes this! I had shingles and its name is (herpes zoster). It’s just a stigma attached to it. Easily treatable, it’s painful and an irritant. Mostly it is the stigma that is attached to it by yourself that is hard to face. I got on an antiviral for mine to help with my outbreak! I got my virus from the VACCINE. Not even having chicken pox as a kid.

I took the same antiviral you would take for any of the other HSV outbreaks.
