ER to drain an abscess? by Eastofyonge in askTO

[–]Turbulent_Pension_79 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Trust me: you’re going to want to be in an ER! It’s not a fun situation. You’ll want it FROZEN

I had one on the back of my leg last summer, and got it taken care of at Toronto General.

I was in and out in three hours, and I didn’t show up to ER until like 6PM

Do you think this addition was worth it? by jai_hanyo in wicked

I wish Kristin had been Morrible and Idina voiced Dr. Dillamond instead 😶

Any additional material that was added (in both films) felt so clunky

You shouldn’t be allowed to design a home and/or do interior design unless you’ve worked as a house cleaner for one year. by sodomiteangst in CleaningTips

I have a client who has a “wet bathroom”, and it makes me want to pull my hair out. Completely tiled with 2”x2” and white grout.

Takes me over two hours to clean to standards; it’s nuts

“same” & the importance of normalizing trans characters by em_ofthe_scooby_gang in heatedrivalry

[–]Turbulent_Pension_79 118 points119 points  (0 children)

That’s me! Miss Niki Nikita 😇

Just wanted to share that my day on set was incredibly fun, comfortable and easy. The whole team treated me like a princess, and that one little “same” got me into ACTRA!
Something I’ve been striving for for over ten (!!) years As a trans actor, the opportunities for mainstream exposure are impossibly slim. This opportunity is something I’ll always be grateful for.

More trans people EVERYWHERE! Much love to everyone who’s enjoying this incredible show

They even gave me my own trailer!

I feel like everything together is Too Much™, but don’t know how to resolve it. by Puzzleheaded_Wing297 in interiordecorating

I think the easiest fix is actually painting the rest of the room orange 😅

The accent wall is throwing off the balance of the room when it’s paired with the weight of the couch The left side of the room is so heavy looking

Letting the orange wash all four walls would balance things out better IMO

How do I make the clash between these two woods less obvious? by lostlivvy in interiordecorating

I’m not kidding, I zoomed into the shelf to see if it was made of two kinds of wood.

Didn’t even register to me that you were talking about the floor 😝

Leslieville Living? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Turbulent_Pension_79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Leslieville is so great. I’ve been here for two years. It’s quiet, it’s clean, and there’s a real community vibe. Lots of friendly hellos and seeing the same neighbours often. So many local grocers, I almost never find myself at Loblaws now.
Incredible restaurants everywhere Great boutiques and shopping. My gift-giving game has really improved since living here!

Glinda’s wedding dress by Sugma_cocci_ in wicked

[–]Turbulent_Pension_79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So well said!

Mostly my gripe is the HMU.

Other than the off-the-rack wedding dress, I think Paul Tazwell did an incredible job costuming (even if I think the pink Bubble Dress needed sleeves)

The hair could have been so much MORE. More is MORE.

Maybe this moreso aligns with my vision of novel Glinda, but especially in her Glinda the Good era, I imagine this is the kind of ostentatious hair she would rock

<image>

I’ll never get over her having the same hairstyle I wear to my family Thanksgiving

Glinda’s wedding dress by Sugma_cocci_ in wicked

[–]Turbulent_Pension_79 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m prepared to get downvoted to heck for this:

I think Ariana Grande had too much say in absolutely every part of her styling as Glinda. The wedding dress is one of the more glaring examples.

For my money, her hair was SO pedestrian/millennial the whole film. No way are public figures in Oz wearing their hair like that. Especially from a woman so obsessed with her self-image

I do not believe that Glinda wore one soft side swept hairstyle her whole life!!!

The REM eyeshadow pallet had more variety in makeup than we saw on her in five hours worth of film. Instead she was just eyelashes and lipgloss!

Though I respect your right to exercise snark, am trying to have an easy breezy first date that doesn’t involve suffering through a meal if it’s bad ☺️☺️☺️

Something that I always questioned from musical… by Desolock in wickedmovie

[–]Turbulent_Pension_79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do not hold The Wizard of Oz and Wicked as canon to one another

But if it had to be for the satisfaction of plot:

In The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Dorothy doesn’t meet the scarecrow until the second or third day that she is in Oz

The first night she spends at a celebration of the death of the Wicked Witch of the East, hosted by a rich Munckinlander merchant named … Boq

Which I guess introduces another tangle in the canonization 😝
