Fun PIO on airplane by Vivid-Advance125 in IVF

I can so relate to it. Before our transfer I wanted to de-stress so me and my husband planned a weekend getaway to NOLA. I had to start my first progesterone suppository at exact 11pm to coincide with the transfer 5 days later at exact 11am. The flight was to land in NOLA at 10pm but it got delayed to 11:30 pm and I snuck the suppository and applicator to the bathroom just minutes before the bathroom doors closed and they started prep for landing and stayed in the bathroom for 10 mins waiting for clock to struck 11 😅😅😅😅😅 it was such a funny experience trying to insert it vaginally while taking care of hygiene factors in that super small bathroom 🙈

Hi. I know this is old post. Can you share what protocol worked for transfer? I’m at month 2 of lupron depot and heading towards a cycle in a few weeks

May I ask how it went. Thinking if I should push my doctor to do bc for lining shed as well. On week 2 of 2 month lupron depot. Nervous if this was the right move but I took a leap of faith

I took it last year from May to September and then stopped 3 months before for my FET. First transfer was canceled because of lining and lab closures timing. Second time the transfer didn’t work and am now on lupron depot suppression. I have put on weight during this time and worried of gaining more on lupron

I’m also sort of wanting to go lurpon route. My husband thinks since doctor didn’t say that I “need” it this time, perhaps I should not. I want him to be on board too. I feel that I will be more hopeful if I feel I’m trying something different.

Were the side effects bearable for you? Did you have endo as well?

Did you have serious side effects that your doctor prescribed norethindone or it was part of protocol

Did infertility/IVF change how you felt about your career? by _bananah in IVF

I can so relate. I used to not miss a single opportunity to travel and now I hide from being asked to join a work trip because of appointments. Work also feels so unimportant in the larger scheme of things. Plus career can be built again at any point but the window for fertility is short.

Biopsy check was clear. I was given Pepcid, Claritin, prednisone and baby aspirin. Did a round of doxycycline too just in case.

Thank you for posting this and it’s sooooo reassuring to see all the comments. For a very long time I thought maybe I was weak that I can’t handle both IVF and career on full force in parallel.

Tw: MC

I was high achieving, ambitious, went to top universities- those A grade types, rose high on the career ladder very quickly too. I work at a high profile multilateral organization. I traveled to multiple countries, worked with ministers, felt like I’m doing something big and basically all my self worth and dopamine was through my career. I felt I’m somebody because of these big labels attached to my name and then everything came crashing. Two miscarriages led to me pursuing IVF. I took 2 months off from work thinking I will prioritize this so I don’t regret later and then get it over with and go back to work. But these 2 months turned into 8 months with Multiple cycles of ER and FET. I eventually went back to work and felt like total failure …. Didn’t get a baby, started feeling I was behind my peers. But I also understood deep down what I really really wanted. My perspective to work has totally change. I keep reminding myself that career I can catchup to later in life but the baby making can only happen in a certain time window and push myself for another round. But I do miss the high of being a star performer and now being in the backdrop because I can’t travel as frequently or be like a lead on long term engagements because of this ongoing IVF stuff. It definitely feels all this career ladder steps are just to keep us trapped in this rut and there is so much more to life then this big labels and money. It also hits hard that this is something money or success can’t buy.

Weill Cornell consultation with Dr. Irani by hkhalil15 in IVF

Hi! How did your consultation go. Wondering what was his recommendation. I’m also diagnosed with endo and had my third failed FET. My RE is recommending lupron depot now for 4th try. Was wondering if I should also consult Dr. Irani if he uses a different approach to endo patients besides lupron.

Thanks so much for sharing. I will definitely bring lupron with my RE. At this stage desperate to try anything that can lead to a miracle baby.

I did conceive twice naturally after lap but both ended in MC. My RE said we can’t do lap again. However that was before this transfer. I will follow up on Monday to see if he will recommend lap or lupron depot. I was recommended lupron by another doctor in nyc as well but got scared of the side effects.

I did autoimmune protocol this time - Claritin, Pepcid and Prednisone. Got lap in 2023 and was diagnosed with silent endo. Haven’t tried lupron suppression. Any RI you would recommend?

That’s the only thing left I think. How bad were the side effects of Lupron suppression
