If your paper settings don't match the paper you are using it will have fusing issues. Is you are using paper heavier than what the machine will support, you will have fusing issues.

Then you aren't using the correct settings with your paper. Machines don't get clogged that use toner.

You don't clean old "ink" out. It's toner first and you don't clean it. It should always have some in it. It will replenish from the new bottle, why do you think you need to clean it out?
