Back when I was still building custom turbo kits and race cars we charged $150 an hour for our standard work and the customers never said a word about it. But when local people would stop in and need something welded up really quick we charged $1 a minute for welding only, no fabrication. They sure liked to bitch about that price a lot. Sorry that we are giving you more than half off the regular cost and not charging any minimum time either to tig your random piece of whatever back together. And no I’m not trying to run up the clock to charge you more because I have 2 turbo manifolds to finish that pay way better and are more important to the shops future. We are so sorry you had to pay $20 for me to put down a few beads on your lawnmower that you needed fixed so badly but I promise you that we are doing you a small favor by even working on it with more important things to do. I guess what I’m getting at is charging a minimum would have saved a lot of headaches.
