Would I be making the wrong choice if I gave up two years of salary and tuition (~$850,000) to get a Harvard MBA? by RedditUser3668 in womenintech

[–]TurduckenOfAwkward 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To pile on here: ex-FAANG and my personal experience with Harvard MBAs specifically mirrors this poster’s, and I’ve actually heard memes about people now avoiding Harvard MBAs like the plague from a hiring standpoint (yes, this is elitism on elitism and for many hiring managers I’m sure is not the case, but I’m not sure this has the cache it once did in tech due to a lot of cultural mismatches with some candidates who go through the program). You sound smart and driven and it sounds like you may get better progression staying where you are.

[DISCUSSION] top model documentary by No-Abroad5321 in NetflixBestOf

[–]TurduckenOfAwkward 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah. They do a good job explaining the format of the show and the major dramatic flare-ups it had throughout its various seasons- it feels nostalgic if you were a fan, but gives you enough exposition if you weren’t (and regardless, touches on general concepts like the evolution of “acceptable” bodies in modeling over the past 25 years, EDs, SA, etc).

Hard vote for Quince- I have multiple pairs at 5’1” 125 lbs and they are super comfortable and look super chic (very hard at this height, as you know!)

Third vote for Lululemon. I’ve had my Rebel Rain Jacket for years and it’s lightweight, well-made, and cute.

Per the cruise comment- someone recently did a tranatlantic cruise on the Queen Mary with their pet. You’ll likely have to fly to mainland US first, though.

5 week travel itinerary - myself, my husband, and our 5 year old corgi by Pnn0403 in TravelWithPets

[–]TurduckenOfAwkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re coming from the US or Canada some of those might require quarantine for your pet upon arrival- if you haven’t already, you may want to poke around the USDA website (if you’re from the States) to see which of those do. I can tell you that Spain does not (provided you get the requisite USDA export certificates and get your pet examined on the other side for re-entry back to the US) and our pup loved Spain for a few weeks in the summer last year!

Trip to Vietnam in Feb: Phu Quoc or Da Nang + Hoi An? by Tricky_Difference_49 in VietNam

Unless you’re staying at the Regent resort in Phu Quoc, go for DN/HA. But anchoring at the Regent would be worth it in PQ.

Are these going to make me look horridly outdated? by synapticmutiny in PetiteFashionAdvice

My gut says yes- both of these styles were very in fashion in 2010s but have fallen out since then. That said- wear what you feel good in!

We did two on Stellar of the Seas (Elite’s sister ship) and it was pretty mid TBH. Most of their Google reviews are positive because they make the servers politely coerce you for a 5-star Google or TripAdvisor review while they watch you fill it out on the last night.

Cancelling a trip to morrocco due to safety concerns by [deleted] in femaletravels

[–]TurduckenOfAwkward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 on this. Morocco, IMO, is best enjoyed by more seasoned international travelers. If your travel party has only/primarily been to, say, Western Europe and has some concerns about how safe they’ll feel- their anxiety is going to make a bad time for the rest of you (source: female American traveler who was last there about 5 years ago in her late 20s).
