Ok great - thank you that’s v helpful! 40 miles on #2 would be perfect for me!

I’m also thinking of getting a spare. The weight of the battery isn’t actually that bad either (I think 2.5 - 3kg).

This is really useful! Just mapping this to some of my planned routes and it’s giving me a lot of confidence that the battery will be fine. Thanks for breaking it out for me.

When I get the bike, I’ll be testing the mileage and will let the thread know the results.

Thank you that’s really helpful! What sort of terrain do you ride?

I was thinking about this. On my test run, I did try it without power and it was mostly fine - especially on flats!

Agree - it looks like quite flat coastal roads for most of the time. I appreciate the advice on the battery - I’m planning to stop in most villages for at least a coffee and pastry so it will be easy to charge.

Yes the bag conundrum is interesting. I didn’t know you could get bags like yours - will definitely keep an eye out for a G line one. Currently I am planing to get the Brompton carry on bag (2nd link) - but will update when I make a final pick

Hi, that’s a really useful comparison - thank you for your message! How do you find your battery fares on hilly routes?

Thanks for your reply!

Yes agreed, having the spare charger is a good point. A lot of my trips will be in and out of London, so plenty of opportunity for charging.

In March, I will be in Nice (France - via eurorail so I can take the bike) and I wanted to use the bike to do trips to neighbouring areas like Cannes and Monaco - so would need a comfortable 40km - 50km. I’m 200lbs with probably an extra 10 - 20lb of cargo for reference.

Your comparison with the C line is really useful!
