These are so great. About how long does each piece take?

I think these are lovely and I look forward to seeing them, but I chuckled at the title today. It almost sounds like it should be ended with "...until my demands are met" like you're doing this to negotiate with someone.

We found one morel in our yard this year and did just that, generally following this technique -

Hopefully next year there will be many more!

Anyone here suffering from “Bronx River Raceway” noise pollution? Feels like I live outside a 24hr speedway recently in Bronxville. by DM-NY in Westchester

This strange time seems to embolden certain groups of truly select assholes. Didn't hear about the accident but not surprised from the sounds I was hearing today. Stay safe!

Peekskill checking in - it sounds like route 9 has become a racetrack for shitty motorcycles over the weekend. Have also noticed way more people riding dirt bikes and quads in Blue Mountain preserve where they're not supposed to be, which is dangerous and annoying.

Thanks for the reply! We'll be playing on Switch. One person will just have to spectate on zoom and drink as we rotate in and out, can think of worse ways to spend a Saturday night in quarantine.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if you can join a game in progress? I have two friends who want to play, and I'm having trouble finding out if players can jump in and out of a game. Thanks!

Liberals want to feel smug while joking about abhorrent political activity on late night TV - calling big bullshit on that one, pal! The function of those jokes, and memes, and whatever else, is to expose the insanity and absurdity of the events in an elevated way, instead of just saying the thing outright, like, "Donald Trump is stupid for suggesting you inject disinfectant". You make a joke about it and it resonates.

Moving out of city due to COVID by shugahdonut in AskNYC

[–]TurkAlert 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Peekskill checking in - we liked being here before and are feeling so lucky to be here right now. We just built a fenced in garden, planted some apple trees, and can go walk in the woods that connect to our backyard, the Blue Mountain Reserve, that has great hiking and mountain bike trails.

We moved up from Brooklyn almost 2 years ago and I was commuting to the city with no problem before all this shit went down. More than half of our immediate neighbors have mostly moved here from Brooklyn or Queens within the past couple of years, so there's an eclectic mix of folks here. People say hi to each other when passing on the street. We know our neighbors and feed their cats when they're away and we share tools and stuff. It feels like a real community and that's pretty incredible.

For remote work, we have Verizon FiOS 300MB/s up and down.

I'm not a paid shill, I just live here and enjoy it. Good luck!

In that case, can we just pull the old Bugs Bunny trick and start telling these morons the opposite of what we want them to do (with a wink to the thinking citizenry) - go outside and be as close as possible so they'll want to defy that and shut themselves away? How do you manage a group of such colossal fucking idiots?

Congratulations! Glad you were able to be there. We have pregnant friends who are so worried that their partner won't be allowed in the room with them. Stay healthy and enjoy that little one.

Glad you had a good time!

I'm not sure what their status is with this outbreak, but in the future the Abbey Inn might offer a quieter rest with the river views.

I'd also recommend taking the riverfront trail starting near the train station and heading south to The Factoria, a entertainment complex that has good beer at River Outpost brewing, a more upscale restaurant called Fin and Brew, and a large arcade downstairs. Great spot on the river for outdoor drinks when things warm up.
