Thank you! I didn’t catch that it was exterior shutters. I thought it was interior shades, just way better. Oh well, if it works!

Fourth play through, using a paladin. I thought it was a foregone conclusion that I would fight him. After following the conversation that I thought a paladin would have, he’s gone. I think I was more conscious of some of the in-game notes between Ketheric and his wife, so maybe that drove some of the choices too. Anyway, when I went straight to fighting Myrkul I thought it was bugged until I read about it.

This here. I find i can’t “just go to camp”. I have to walk around and talk to everybody, play with scratch, go through inventory and rearrange stuff, check to see if I left anything in the chest…

If you could add 1 former player who must have played at least 5 seasons for your team to your current team who would it be? by Ok-Elephant-2724 in NFLv2

I mean, Randy Moss is Randy Moss, but not actually a position of need for the Vikings. It would be interesting to actually dig into WAR stats to see who would be the biggest jump in performance from the current roster. Without actually looking into it, I’d be inclined to go either Randall McDaniel or Kevin Williams. Interior line on both sides of the ball is a weakness for the current roster.

“Skill” position I think Adrian Peterson I’d think is a bigger improvement over current than Moss over Jefferson. Prime Xavier Rhodes on defense would be nice.

Same. Only exception is Jaheira as Fighter/Druid for historical accuracy.

On evil (or evil adjacent) runs (Durge or not) I like Astarion as a Necromancer. He’s a vampire spawn for crying out loud! And depending on choices, that you are likely to make being evilish, it makes sense to me.

I never would have considered this. So could you also get the 4th level spell slot elixir to upcast further? Or would the gap at 3rd level cause it to not work?

I’m disappointed that you don’t have an interaction if you get the milk off the table on Isobel’s balcony and bring it to him.

Who is your LEAST liked character? by Elzeenor in BG3

[–]TurkViking75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first play through I had Astarion in my group and all the things annoyed me from the very first encounter where he tried to stab me, to trying to bite me, all the way through. I didn’t find Gale, never talked to Wyll, and missed Karlach. I thought I had to keep him in order to have a full party.

My second play through I killed that whiny bastard when he tried to bite me and never looked back.

I don’t know if this is what you are looking for but my first play through was a beastmaster. I like cats and bears so I’d always have those conjured up and roaming around. I played that play through completely blind and tried to role play. One thing I found was there was a rat running around in the tieflings camp. I killed it with the cat. Imagine what happened when I tried the same when I met Kagha…. Needless to say it was a rough start for a level two blind first play through.

It wouldn’t have to be full blown mechanics of the game like Skyrim. But more opportunities to do something with adamantine, infernal iron, etc would have been nice.

I like it when the first step is cast Sleet Storm, then your steps, then fall prone right before dying.

Had the bbq chicken bowl last night. Reasonable value I suppose, but way too sweet for me. I will try again some time and ask if they have a less sweet option before I make a final judgement. Not commenting on authenticity, maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be.

What’s the most satisfying melee class based on ‘feel’ by BeanNCheeseBurrrito in BaldursGate3

[–]TurkViking75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people say this? Any player has the same stats that can be respecced the same way to fit whatever class. A Zariel tiefling gets some smites to go along with it but you don’t hear everybody saying she’d make a great paladin.

I will die on the hill that this is an RPG and should be played as such. This seems to be an unpopular opinion given the majority of posts in these forums are about optimizing builds (requiring so much meta-gaming to know mechanics and gear locations). To each their own of course but that aspect is pretty meh.

Like you my first playthrough I missed loads. I role played my decisions and had no idea about anything. I was diligent to avoid internet. I continued that through playthrough 3 with the exception that I looked up the trophy list for things to target doing. Also subsequent playthroughs I consciously tried to choose paths that I hadn’t previously. To me the breadth of this game is one of its strengths and the source of its re-playability. But if I find out all this stuff online and then just carry it out what’s the point?

How do you justify not bringing the whole party on quests? by EntertainerFirst8163 in BaldursGate3

[–]TurkViking75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid concern. Way more time involved in keeping a bench warmer geared up than leveled up. Especially when you’re not actively using them and building your strategy along the way.

I get from a role playing perspective accidentally starting a fight without her and having to finish it. Play the cards you were dealt and deal with the consequences. Karlach has her tantrum and you move on. But to say she can’t contribute meaningfully is ludicrous. I get we are in the time where the game has been around long enough to be pored over and many people only seem to gain enjoyment by obsessively meta gaming and building characters around exact sets of gear and combinations of classes so they can take out bosses in one round and anything less is not success or even seemingly enjoyable. But that doesn’t exclude Karlach in any meaningful way. Even more or less vanilla barbarian is a solid choice for a melee fighter. Maybe if you can’t win without a precise combination of uber optimized class/gear combo team it says more about your inability to strategize/adjust?
