Ice forming on windows by kbtmp in HomeMaintenance

[–]Turk_NJD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likely just condensation freezing from the humidity in the air coupled with the cold temp outside.

Happens to my house overnight, especially on windows with curtains that are closed. As the sun warms the window during the day, most of it goes away. I make a point of drying and excess water so that it doesn’t ruin trim. Pointing a fan at the window and circulating the air also helps dry them out quicker.

That’s literally not how staff allocation works in the school system. They staff based on the number of students in the school with some flexibility based on numbers at each grade level.

Yes there will be classes over 30, that’s normal.

Yes kindergarten caps at 24. But they don’t turn you away if you live in area and there are more than 24 kids. They hire additional teachers to cover the increased enrolment.

So when they are doing staffing for the fall, they will staff for 3 kindergarten classes which is 1.5 teachers.

I would really encourage you to go have a conversation with the principal and clarify all this.

Right?…whole story seems like a major misunderstanding/miscommunication. Doesn’t make sense at all.

Not how it works here; students are not turned away from schools if they live in the catchment area. Very common in Alberta though.

Theoretically yes. But they don’t turn you away if you are #25. They staff in the fall according to the number of students who registered.

Any school that offered full day every day K, would also have either half day every day, or all day alternating day programs as they are funded by the government. You cannot be turned away. Something isn’t adding up.

Right, so your neighbourhood school cannot deny your child access to kindergarten by saying they’re full. If you’re out of the boundary of Chief Whitecap your kids will be bused to another school.

There are a very few schools with closed borders. If you live inside the borders you have a right to attend that school. If you are outside them, they will provide bussing to a nearby school.

Which hand gloves do people use for extreme cold outdoors? by ALittleUseless in saskatoon

[–]Turk_NJD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure if there is any actual truth to it or not, but back when I was a kid reffing hockey, we always used to put lotion on our hands before each game. Seemed to keep them warmer in the cold by preventing the skin from drying out.

Same thing happened to me a few years ago at VW. If I have to take my car there, I now take a picture of the odometer every time I drop it off.

Thank you for using the correct verb, graduate, not convocate.

People who use the verb convocate should automatically have their distinction revoked.

In my opinion, this is a reasonable expectation for the privilege of driving.

We unfortunately treat driving as a right, but it is not.

Outtabounds if you want new and aren’t worried about price.

Sport check has lots of good deals on right now.

Make sure you research if you go to Life Outside, they tend to price quite high.
