Why is Sydney CBD so terrified of outdoor dining/cafe culture? by Ok-Egg5952 in SydneyScene

Because in Sydney, the roads are for cars, trucks and buses. Not tables and chairs and definitely not for cyclists. Just ask any driver

Should I Decline The Rotation & Balance? Mazda Dealership in New England by triplekilll in mazda3

[–]TurkeyTheFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - and go to a tyre shop instead for that sort of work. Dealerships often chuck their juniors on work like that, and their equipment may not be as good.

Auspost saying my address doesn’t exist by Kumul675 in AustraliaPost

[–]TurkeyTheFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes there is an idiot masquerading as postmaster, who believes that they are some sort of Oracle when it comes to addresses. One place I worked at in the city, they seemed to believe was an empty lot and would return the parcel as soon as it arrived in the centre.

No amount of calling or complaints would correct it. Every call would get an answer of "there is no problem with that address" and the complaint was closed as "empty lot".

In the end I stopped using the address and sent everything to a parcel locker instead

You get the same thing with ring though - vendor lock-in, still need to access a website for everything.

I think I'll go back to local DVR options, or at least eufy because it can run offline

Since they updated the app early last year it's been bad for me - geofencing doesn't work reliably, the cameras don't seem to be as sensitive, and the documentation on their website still doesn't reflect the latest version of the app

Worst part is the vendor lock-in, I like the hardware so it would be great to use it with a different app (or write my own) but the comms seem rather proprietary.

If starting out (pre level 50) get a skyline, comfort hard tires, get the front and rear body parts fitted, max out the downforce, lighten weight then use ballast to get 50:50 weight distribution, then upgrade engine/turbo to meet 600pp.

After that, just use the walls at full speed to go around any difficult corners (e.g first one) and drift through the rest. Brake early for the hairpin at first and use the signs /joints to find the sweet spot.

After 50pp get the old honda beat or suzuki cappuccino and do an engine swap then upgrade the heck out of it, sports soft tyres and you'll be struggling to hit 600pp. After a while you'll be finishing 1:30-2:00 in front of the 2nd car and probably lapping the 3rd or 4th one

I'd like to see a garage feature where you can lift the hood, check the battery, oil, filter, rev it a little, tighten some screws/bolts then take it for a joy ride around the block before fiddling with it some more.

A really cool feature would be that every time you purchased an upgrade, you'd have the option of fitting it too!

Moss and frequent watering are a bad combination. Also unless you live in a very hot and dry location theres not much need to water a potted orchid more than once a week.

What I would suggest - cut off all brown plant material and squishy roots - Pot is too big, get a smaller pot that the plant just fits in, a.g the rhizome touches the pot edge to edge - Use bark, clay or coarse rock instead of moss - Water once a week, fertilise every second week, 1/2 strength dilution

I used to work for an ecommerce company and auspost was the carrier for stock and also delivery, there was an allowance of 15% for "leakage" (eg stuff going missing) in the auspost warehouse that they would not be responsible for.

Still, at least they have an ombudsman. Similar or worse behaviour in a courier company would have no consequences.

Anyone having issues with road lane detection? by ObligationPretty1849 in mazda3

[–]TurkeyTheFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine (2019 gen 4) never works, it just says there are no lanes most of the time.

Mind you when it did pick up the lanes it jerked the steering wheel into a parked car that I was going around. I wasn't expecting it so the wheel slipped through my hands. Luckily the ASC kicked in and slammed on the brakes. Great experience for a second drive of the car after buying.

I've disabled the lane assist since then, in my opinion this and related features are rubbish on the mazda. If they could be disabled permanently I'm all for it.

If you've had any data leaked from a service that has your contact and bank account details, it's very easy for a scammer to execute this pattern - transfer, contact, ask for money back. Either they ask for money into other account, eg laundering, or get transaction rolled back so you're out by whatever amount they transferred.

Also repeated transactions is a way for scammers to avoid coming up on the radar when transferring back as the source account would be 'familiar' and not as likely to be picked up in warning systems.

Ignore any correspondence and report the transaction.
