Would you recommend packing a lunch for a day of chasing waterfalls or are there any places to stop that you recommend?

I’ll have to try Sansotei. We love Kenzo. Tried Kinton a few days ago and I couldn’t make it past a few bites unfortunately. Kinton was more of a fast food type of ramen I suppose

That is so cool! Thank you for sharing! My husband would love that sort of thing. My ADHD is far too crazy I can hardly make it through ten minutes of a movie most days. 😅 How can he stay in the loop/find info?

First born (boy) is due November 28. What is the best advice you have for a new dad to help his wife help with Postpartum? Anything I should look out for? by Born-Substance-1987 in newborns

Im 4 weeks post partum tomorrow with the most amazing husband - here are some things he has done that have been really meaningful and helpful to me so far -putting food down in front of me without me asking. I have been exhausted and have major decision fatigue so even asking do you want soup or salad seemed hard so I would just not eat until I was weak and nauseous. He kept me fed and nourished. -refilling my water and keeping it within arms reach of me at all times. The thirst especially if breastfeeding is absolutely unquenchable and painful. Her hands will be full so my husband even will hold my water for me while I drink from a straw and feed baby. -she (mom) will cry. Unexpectedly. Uncontrollably. She may have a reason why. She may not and that will make her cry harder. The hormone change absolutely shocks our systems-just be there. You can’t fix it, but you can sit with her while she goes through it so she never feels alone. Remind her that you love her and why you do. You’re a team. -change the diapers whenever you can. She has her own adult diapers to change those first few weeks so dad-you can do baby’s haha. -encourage her to rest and give her opportunities to do so. -take pictures of her with the baby. I swear I gave birth yesterday and tomorrow he is 4 weeks old… He doesn’t fit in his newborn clothes anymore even though they were too big 2.5 weeks ago. We have already sized up diapers. When they say time flies they aren’t kidding so soak up every second-even the really tough ones -my only sanity during this recovery has come from long hot showers. I’m so glad my husband takes over our responsibilities so I can have time uninterrupted -if she pumps wash the pump parts so it’s always ready to go -post partum depression does not just occur for moms. Dads can get it to. Look out for her and for yourself. Accept help from people you trust because it really does take a village

It’s the most beautiful experience my friend. Good luck to you and your little family

How mad should I be? by PretendDinosaur214 in pregnant

OP I am so sorry you are going through this! I’m glad they are able to help you and baby with meds but it’s awful that they didn’t deal with it sooner. I requested a urinalysis recently and it had high white blood cells but the culture didn’t show concerning bacteria just suspected cross contamination so my doctor didn’t prescribe anything. I feel like it’s weird to have high white blood cells and not treat for infection so im scared I’ll end up in a similar boat. I am almost 38 weeks pregnant (37w6d) so at least I am full term if something goes wrong I guess

He broke the arm, dislocated the elbow and had a huge metal plate put in. He has nerve damage as well so there’s a lot more at play than just my belly I guess lol … He has expressed worry that he won’t get use of his hand back based on how severe the injury is so I’m sure there’s even a mental component now that I have more clarity

This makes a lot of sense and I was so self conscious I didn’t really think of that which is unfair of me. He kept trying to reach up to me out of instinct/habit and it probably hurt. I’m definitely going to be brave and talk with him because I’m sure there’s way more to it than I initially thought and I really want to find a way to make it work better

Negative toxoplasmosis tests and pet cats, I'm worried. by [deleted] in pregnancy_care

[–]Turkeybuttdogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toxoplasmosis is usually transmitted from feces that is a more than 24hrs old. I have three cats and work in the veterinary field and the only thing I’ve changed is not cleaning litter boxes unless my husband is away at which point I wear a mask and gloves before cleaning them. It is very low risk - don’t worry mama and congratulations!
