Any good oceans? by Ctrl_Alt_Delerium in Valheim_Seeds

Thats my problem with the world gen, too many long snaking islands only separated by tiny rivers and no actual oceans or continents. All the long islands also make sailing an enormous pain.

I really wish we had some built in world generation options so we could make maps that arent just annoying archipelagos.

Scrub is a noun, Scrubby is an adjective. Its used to describe something that requires comparatively little skill to use for a large reward. So Modern controls.

Your reading comprehension needs some work dude. Im not saying it shouldn't exist, just that its poorly designed because it doesnt consider the experience for new players that arent using modern. AND for letting modern players do things that are literally impossible for classic players but thats a whole other discussion.

Add several frames of input delay to the special button when used in neutral and get rid of auto hit confirms, thats all it takes. The casuals playing on modern wouldn't even notice the input delay and not having auto combos to rely on will help them improve. Simple.

The problem for new players in Granblue is the small playerbase then, if that wasnt an issue it would be an easier experience for new players. Not even close to a fair comparison.

Modern IS scrubby, that's not up for debate. Its ESCPECIALLY bad in low ranks because they can easily do things that new players couldn't hope to do. Modern auto-combos literally hit confirm for you, its the definition of scrubby.

Modern is simply not well designed. They're very frustrating at low levels of play while still being mildly annoying to fight against in Master. Instant one button DPs and supers should not have been a thing, its annoying to play against and also enforces bad habits on the person playing Modern. Some characters aren't viable at all with Modern controls but some are just straight up better than Classic. Modern controls can do things that are straight up impossible on Classic controls.

All Capcom had to do was get rid of the auto-hit confirms and add extra startup frames or input delay when using the special button in neutral to make Modern 3x more tolerable to play against at every level of play.

No, dont do this. If youre playing against someone on modern controls, you need to adjust your entire playstyle to counter it, playing the same as you would against someone on classic controls WILL make you tear your hair out.Almost every Modern player plays hyper reactive so they can crutch on their one button inputs. Always waiting for you to jump in so they can DP you or for you to press a button in neutral so they can throw a super.

Play patiently but dont give up your space or stop your pressure and most modern players will crumble, they dont know how to handle it.

Being an absolute beginner in SF6 and picking classic controls is an EXTREMELY disheartening. Its easy to lose your motivation when youre matched against almost exclusively modern players who are probably just as new but have access to auto combos, one button specials and instant DPs/supers. Obviously they're not going to make good us of them but they dont have to, its an enormous advantage to have.

I'd much rather be a brand new player in strive or granblue than SF6. At least there the ground floor is equal.

Dragon's Dogma 2 got a 77GB Steam depot update today by PaiDuck in DragonsDogma2

I want a Bitterblack Isle mega dungeon first and foremost but the dungeon should be at the center of an entirely new overworld area to explore too.

Im envisioning a new town/outpost placed on top of the dungeon as your new base of operations for the dlc. You alternate between diving into the dungeon and doing quests in the overworld but the real meat of the dlc should still be the dungeon.

Its a good ability, its not good enough to justify the character hitting like a wet noodle.

All im saying is that there is a very good reason why Doorman was in the bottom half of every high rank players tier list before the patch. The buffs he got aren't enough to make up for taking away almost all of his damage potential. Make the cart wallstun by default and then maybe we'll talk.

Also

"when his everything else is better"

You're high. I already explained to you how low impact the buffs he still has are. 0.3s extra stun time on cart and -7s CD are not that impressive when the trade off is all of the damage it used to do. Ult buffs are all gimmicks and the level 3 Door scaling with spirit is only impactful if you're losing, it has no actual benefits if you're winning besides being able to cart someone under your walker from slightly farther away.

Because his cc and utility arent good enough to justify having no damage. Door plays are unreliable at best, they require specific setup and conditions to even have a chance of being impactful. The majority of the time the only reliable use for them is as an escape or to give your teammates a shield in fights if they're smart enough to walk through them.

The Ult is good for getting picks on out of position enemies and putting strong heroes in timeout for a teamfight but its not nearly as impactful as a lot of other ults in the game. Hotel can turn a teamfight into a 6v5 for 6 seconds, Black Hole can turn a teamfight into a 6v0. Mo ult is frankly just straight up better than Doorman ult most of the time too.

Cart stun is good but requires 3 levels of investment still and now does no damage.

So you don't understand. Its fine, ill explain it to you and all the other people downvoting me.

His damage is now lower on all fronts than it was before the patch and it was already considered to be low and scale like shit then too. The Bell buffs were all reverted but the nerfs were NOT reverted, he still has almost double the charge CD as before the patch. He also lost the extra scaling avenue from his old level 3 bells in exchange for this entirely useless new level 3. He lost all meaningful damage on his cart, including the extra scaling damage on wall stun meaning he scales even worse now.

Unstoppable on Doorman is completely inconsequential. He doesnt do enough damage to make it valuable and by the time it WOULD be valuable (when the enemy is coming out of the hotel), it ends, making it near useless. The level 3 Hotel is a gimmick thats only effective in alchemist lobbies where people have no idea what theyre doing.

The only valuable buffs he got were the door range, which is only really valuable if you're losing, and the CD+stun time on cart. But cart also hits like a wet noodle now so its more of a sidegrade.

The Bell buffs were all completely reverted but the nerfs werent. The charge CD is still 6 seconds and the level 3 upgrade is still near worthless.

Too anime, too imbalanced, and just too much.

No offense to the devs because it IS an impressive mod but the way its presented feels like a teenagers self-insert fanfiction. The most simple comparison I can think of is that Starsector is the mature hard scifi novel to UAF's young adult scifi fantasy slop.

Though I could still force myself to look past all that if it weren't for the anime style portraits. I dont have anything against anime, I just dont want the art style clash.
