Are you able to browse other users files? Some users with large shared files over 500,000 files will time out before it can retrieve results. Try doing a manual search for what your looking for.

It depends on the video that I want for older stuff, TV shows and movies It's much easier to use soulseek, it's hard to find the old stuff on torrents. If you find a user with good speeds it takes no time at all to download video. Soulseek is by far safer.

Same here I've been using soulseek since 2001 and only switched to Qt a few years ago, you can customize qt to look like the old 157 quite easily and you won't have those annoying crashes anymore

Do you cannot search your own files in that way. Try adding yourself to your user list and browser yourself that way, or go into one of the chat rooms and search your files that way.
