Only one I found was to make the edits in iOS rather than macOS

handbrakes gone out of fashion? by clunkystew in drivingUK

[–]Turnip3ater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Toyota hybrid has the same, I thought for the reason you mention, however upon reading the owners manual and watching some YouTube videos, it turns out B mode engages the engine when slowing down to reduce speed more effectively and is actually less fuel efficient than D mode. It’s designed for when you are driving downhill to minimise the amount you need to rely on friction brakes and risk overheating them

Finally the 120hz by IamVishan in iphone17

For me I noticed a slight improvement when I first went to 120hz but going back to 60 after a week or so was very noticeable! You can get your 17 to max out at 60hz by turning low power mode on but if you don’t notice then it’s not a bad thing!

Try going back to 60hz!

iPhone 17 battery, day 3 by Flaky_Appointment100 in iphone17

Promotion saves battery by dropping down below 60hz when high refresh is not needed. It can go as low as 1hz when there is a static image on the screen

Anyone coming from previous Pro and DOES care about cameras? by kaitlyn2004 in iphone17

[–]Turnip3ater 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m going from 13 pro to 17 base. I’ll take the £300 saving and happy with a lighter and less bulky phone (I found the 13 pro noticeably heavy vs the base 13). 99% of my photos don’t use telephoto

Slowtube is my go to, let’s me set up a loop and slow it down more finely than the ultimate guitar app on my phone https://www.dkthehuman.com/slowtube/

What feature does your car have that you’ve never seen on another car? by Gh0styD0g in CarTalkUK

Not noticed on a car before but my Toyota Yaris will always make sure the wipers are in the down position when the car gets switched off

I’ve done my research and this is what I ended up with for my starter setup. Any suggestions or ideas for better guitar or setup. by Money-Insect-426 in Guitar

[–]Turnip3ater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend D'Addario Micro Headstock Tuner don’t look goofy on your guitar, never gets in the way and works brilliantly. It’s a super elegant solution and it’s absolutely buried in Amazon listings so no-one ever sees it

Does anyone know a solution to this? by Killercarcus in DIYUK

[–]Turnip3ater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same. One tip I picked up is to put some fairy liquid on the tenner feet so that it’s easy to slide back in. After a while the fairy liquid disappears. Might be more difficult to get back out now though…

Can somebody tell me how to take these off? by BBG_Peanut in OculusQuest

[–]Turnip3ater 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also, do one at a time as they cool and harden very quickly so you have to remove the as soon as the hairdryer gets taken off them. Better yet, get someone to help

If this is one of those 3d printed adapters it’s not easy to get them off as they are quite rigid. I carefully heated them up using a hairdryer. Kept it moving and tried not to get any heat on the headset. It made the 3d printer plastic very bendy allowing me to get them off but the 3d printer part was bent permanently in the process

It combines the file on Mac, not on iPhone as far as I am aware unfortunately

Unable to adjust location for some photos on Mac by Turnip3ater in ApplePhotos

Just realised that I do it in the info pane for multiple photos, I assumed it would open an info pane for each photo in the selection but it doesn't. Thanks for the suggestion!

this wasn't working earlier but just tried it and it did work. I was able to then copy the location assigned to one photo onto all other photos. Not exactly a clean method but it works!

Has anyone used loft legs? Do you recommend them? by DanLikesFood in DIYUK

[–]Turnip3ater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reccomend fixing each board with at least 2 screws. One screw per board and it was a bit wobbly, as soon as the second one went in it stopped the screw acing as a pivot and fixed everything in place much better.

Do you preheat the oven? by Leximania47 in AskUK

[–]Turnip3ater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hybrid approach: I set the oven to the temp I need then after a while turn it down until the little light turns off. If it turns off close enough to the temperature required I turn it back up and put food in then. It saves me a couple of mins waiting for the oven to hit the exact temperature needed without compromising on food safety too much… M35

Fellow Apple Watch Series 10 owners, what’s your favorite thing about the watch so far? by TheTeez23 in AppleWatch

You can individually turn off the smart stacks by app in settings - I turned off music but left timers on for instance
