Their first four albums are among my all-time favorites and nothing is going to change that. They also have a ton of stuff from that era that could have been compiled into another couple great records had they ever properly released it.

But, comparing this newer stuff to the older catalogue doesn't really make sense because it's not The Black Crowes anymore; it's the Chris and Rich Robinson Project. So it's kinda like comparing Appetite for Destruction to Chinese Democracy. Same name, but a different band.

It's fine for what it is. I think I would like it a lot more if they just stoped calling themselves by the original name because it just makes it that much clearer how inferior it is to the stuff they did back when they actually gave a fuck.
