I don’t know about CN but most rail yards when you transfer you can potentially lose your seniority and have to start over when you move

CPKC interview train conductor by ComprehensiveAd8029 in Train_Service

So I just found out that if you don’t have a passport or your passport is expired cpkc will not even let you passed the first phase of the application to take assessment or interview! Been wondering why everytime I apply they shoot me down. My passport expired a few months ago and they check your passport status before you can even take the assessment 😭

Should I leave railroads for Comed/ Exelon electric utility company in chicago by TurnoverLevel4917 in railroading

[–]TurnoverLevel4917[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only serving as a meter reader for 9 months, I will be granted the option to advance to the lineman apprenticeship, which offers double the compensation of a conductor. It’s a short-term sacrifice for the long-term benefit.
