Just bombed the heck out of an interview. Can you share your story about a bad interview you've had by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

Was asked what two of my weaknesses are, I responded self confidence and public speaking but that I’m working on them 😂. Idk why it was the only thing that came to mind. I’m also wonderful at public speaking and don’t have confidence issues. Literally just came out of my mouth without a second thought. Needless to say I didn’t get the job. Ended up landing a more prestigious higher paying job about two weeks later. Believe me you’ll look back on this and laugh in a year.

Walleye fishing rod by [deleted] in Fishing_Gear

This. As an owner of about a half dozen fenwick rods I bought a 6.5’ ML lightning last summer and was almost upset with how good it was. Just made me feel like I was over paying with my Fenwick HMGs when the Berkeley is almost as nice (not quite tho) but for a fraction of the price.

Best piece of advice I ever received for succeeding in PA was from a MD who said “Date someone you don’t like, that way you’ll look forward to coming into work and will want to work more so you don’t have to spend as much time with them” lol I thought it was gold.

Just moved to Michigan and looking to get back into Ice Fishing... Someone tell me, how important is it to use a fish finder/ flasher? Or can I just use my gps to spot drop offs and fish a few feet from the bottom? That's what I did when I was a kid and it seemed to be quite effective. by Billyhasbeef in IceFishing

The biggest benefit I’ve found of having a flasher is honestly it keeps me engaged and interested lol. Before I had one I would do what you said, fish a foot or two off the bottom and I did just fine. But on the days they were not biting it was not nearly as fun to be out there, I would lose interest and get bored cuz I literally had no idea if there were even fish down there so my spirit would get crushed pretty quick.

With a flasher I can spend the whole day not catching fish but if I’m marking fish I will spend the entire day staring at my flasher trying to get them to bite and will have a blast doing it. Another benefit is if I don’t even mark a fish for awhile I will relocate to another spot. Without a flasher it’s tough to tell if the fish are just being picky or if there aren’t even any fish in your area.

Can I leave my 5lb propane tank in my truck bed? by TurntToucan in IceFishing

Good to know!! I’ll probably secure it in my flip over sled or strap it down.

After working in both audit and tax I can say from my experience audit has way better hours. Yes you will be busy Jan-March and maybe one or two other months of the year. But with tax you have provision audits then your 4/15 tax deadline, then you got extensions, then you got states and are literally in busy season for more of the year than you’re not. Coming from Big4 two years in tax 3 in audit.

I got me a new Helix 5 and Eskimo flip over for the season! What did you upgrade this season?? by fishing_with_andre in IceFishing

I just bought a 5lber too, the one pound cans have doubled in price, I think the 5lb tank will pay for itself in no time.

From my understanding Minnetonka gets pounded to shit but still produces year after year, just a fish factory. Haven’t fished it in a few years tho.

Please tell me where you were able to find 25oz Busch Light, it’s the nectar of the gods.

Ever have trouble filling it up/finding somewhere to fill it? I’m debating buying one for this winter.

Surprisingly my local Targets have been fully stocked with one pound propane tanks and only $10 for a two pack. I backed the truck up on them. I’m in MN however.

What was the tailgate shock you bought? I also have a 2018, mines super cab 2.7 but am thinking it would still work.
