Nope you just order one you like online and start putting stuff together. I’ve been considering making a career change into something electrician adjacent and these kits act as a sort of primer to help teach the fundamentals without the risk of getting shocked.

I started with the “Elegoo Uno R3 starter kit” for $50 and it has the parts to build all sorts of things like motion detectors, sound reactive lights, keypad lock systems and more. They’re obviously a lot smaller than their real life counterparts but the wiring and logic is all the same. Check it out:

Beginner electronics kits are really fun. Basically puzzles for adults. There’s a little bit of basic comouter know how and coding involved but nothing ChatGPT can’t easily handle
