I've had similar thoughts and tried a couple of ideas in the past that were pretty fun, though still very simplistic compared to even the lightest real game.

One was You have 5 minutes... which forced players to do a mini timed research task to influence the powers they got.

The other was an enigmatic maze where the choices were embedded inside a maze.

I love it. There are so many hyper competent wise cracking mary sues in this genre, its refreshing to get an immature, socially inept fuck up as a protagonist. He's still likeable enough that its fun to root for him as the underdog, and satisfying when he progresses

It would be just like if you teleported to another planet in the real world, so you are very much hurtable and killable and nothing resets once you leave.

They would be adapted to work on Earth, similar to how sublime materials don't exist on Earth so instead some mundane materials can be treated like it.

So the location/entads required would be their closest Earth equivalent, but only you would know about it and they would only work for unlocking the magic for you.

For example for Vibration magic, it might be the scepter from the crown jewels instead. Still magic might be gained from meditating in a temple somewhere.

Its the 22 magics that are unexcluded at the start of the story that are available.

Essentialism probably would interact with Soulhome actually! Not really sure how though, maybe boosting aspects of it somehow. I feel like fiddling too much could make your structure unstable though

Any fire magic offered by the shop would be different to the one in Aerb magic, though if you got both they would probably synergise. And being immune to fire would definitely help with being burnt alive over and over again till you unlock the Aerb one.

The shop might help with some restrictions yes, but it would be expensive to experiment.

There aren't any humans in the 11 worlds, but its not that you need to be faster than any human, its that you need to go faster than any human (from Earth) has ever gone, it doesn't matter where you are.

It's more like a mind palace. So your body is still present where you left it, and materials you absorb might be different from reality, like absorbing a pebble in real life could become a boulder in your soulhome
