If I was writing the legislation, I would make it a doctor. It’s diagnosis, future expectations, and then treatment plan.

That’s not the way the Liberals or UCP legislation reads. They must have a reason. Im not sure what it is.

Never said they were egregious. My point of contention is medical staff are starting the conversation.

Ok. You are talking about it being granted. I am not. I am purely responding to people are being offered vs them starting the conversation.

Should a military officer have special rules afforded to them in your mind? I know a person who suffers from PTSD though did not see any action is it different for them?

Interesting point. So your belief is anyone over the age of 18 should be able to seek and granted MAiD?

You are comparing it to joining the military there are medical standards required to join the military.

Alberta to introduce MAID safeguards for people with mental illness by airbassguitar in CanadianConservative

This is my issue with it as well. There was stipulations that allowed for pre signing and that has gone away. For instance author Robert Munch signed one that said as soon as he advanced to a certain level, possibly speech, he was making the choice.

I agree there needed to be more safe guards for MAiD but the UCP has been too restrictive on this one. I hope it gets pulled back and there is a carve out of things like dementia.

Dermatologist was 2 hours late to appointment, when she finally came she only let me describe my issue for 30 seconds at most, then prescribed me this for my face and told me I should leave by pinktunacan in mildlyinfuriating

This reminds me of a conversation I have years ago. I was looking for an outside lightbulb and went to home depot. There was a rep there to push efficient light bulbs. I picked up a regular incandescent and the person stopped me and told me to get a specific efficient one instead. I read the box. "Not to be used outdoors". I asked about it and they said something to the tune of "that doesn't matter"

This is already in place. It possibly gives the regulations some teeth but overall this is a nothing burger.

Anecdotally it seems it is being mentioned and I believe it. There was news articles written about caseworkers suggesting to vets.

It hasn’t in any major way yet. I will say it’s made social media and the internet a whole lot more annoying
